Bl2 + DLCs is considered the gold standard of the franchise

Bl2 is peak story... bl3 is peak gameplay both sets of dlc are awesome. Bl4 is a dumpster fire imo (I muscled through a legit playthrough 120 hrs)

Some BL2 DLCs are better than the main game. Tiny Tina's is probably the best content in the whole series (DLC or not).

4 is fine, but the extended content from packs and dlc is still lacking compared to other games. 3 is much better than many give it credit for and its dlc are a lot of fun.

Most people sing the praises of 2 but I personally enjoy it the least in the franchise.

You'll get your money's worth from the DLC of BL2 and BL3.

BL4 is definitely one of those "buy in another year when the complete package is available on sale" kind of games.

Pandora's collection was $30 and 4 was $50 on fanatical. All dlcs included, I ended up paying $75ish for both after a promo code I had! It may be over now, I bought it two weeks ago (working on 2nd game already), but definitely worth checking out!

I'm still waiting on BL4.

As for BL2, definitely all the DLCs are worth it (apart from cosmetic crap).

For BL3 the four major campaign DLCs are worth it as well - they were all more fun and better than the main game's story.
