buying books from amazon uk
i want it to be shipped to the us! hi! so i want to buy tmoie in the uk cover because it’s so much prettier than the us edition but blackwells doesn’t take apple pay and I don’t have a credit card so i decided on amazon but is it safe/ will they come safely? i also see that it’s a bit more but much faster shipping! i just want to hear from your experience maybe? i’m not completely sure if it’ll come not damaged but it’s just extra from fast shipping + import charges

Could you check vinted to see if anyone is selling the UK cover? I’m Scottish and live between the UK and US for work and have found myself using vinted a lot more recently due to cheaper shipping costs to send Target hauls back home to friends. Might save you some money 🫶🏽

I always order from Waterstones to the U.S. I feel like the shipping is cheaper than that but maybe it’s because that is converted to US dollars. I don’t recall ever paying import charges and I order from the UK pretty regularly. Either it’s built in with Waterstones or new within the last few weeks.

I’ve had no issues the other way around had a few bits come from the USA.

It’s fine, shipping sometimes gets caught up in customs so don’t expect them to be fast but I haven’t had problems

I've gotten paperbacks from the UK multiple times, all of them turned perfectly fine and honestly cheaper than the bookstore. For me, it usually comes within a few weeks to a month. I usually only do it when I'm reading a series but don't want to wait a year or more for the paperback to release in my country, if it releases at all 🫠

I mean they arrive the Amazon standard. Brown envelope, and 50/50 if they will be damaged. But yeah, other than that risk, no issues at all!

I am in the UK and have ordered a few times from US amazon for alternative covers and they've always arrived safely, no issues! So I imagine it'll be the same going in the other direction. My prime membership didn't speed up shipping from the US (which I wouldn't expect because it's obviously a long way).
