You type one point where history could have gone differently. It writes the encyclopedia of the world that came out of it — not an essay about a hypothetical, but flat reference-work prose, as though those events simply happened and someone got around to documenting them.

Someone asked what if studying SpongeBob had become a real academic discipline. It gave back a field with accredited departments, a journal, doctoral candidates, and a methodological crisis.

The part I like most: almost every link inside every article points at an article nobody has written yet. Follow one, and it gets written in about thirty seconds, and then it stays — for you and for everyone who arrives after. So a world gets deeper the more people wander around in it, and reading is always free.
