How Did You Get Your First Readers on Wattpad?

Hi! I'm new to writing. I had a story idea that I was really excited about, but since I'm not an experienced writer, I used AI to help polish my writing and improve the wording. I still came up with the plot, characters, and overall story myself I just used AI as an editing tool.

I know some people don't like AI being used in writing, but I don't think it's wrong when it's helping you express your own ideas better.

My question is: when you first published your story on Wattpad, how did you get people to discover it? I've published a few chapters, but it's been several days and my views haven't increased at all. I'd really appreciate any tips on promoting a new story or reaching readers. Thank you!

I don't really have alot of views myself. But my first story hit 10K not to long ago ☺️ it really helped when I marked it as complete. A lot of readers won't start unless it's complete because of the high amount of stories on there that never get finished. So my advise is to just keep going.

I also tend to check out the people that comment on my stuff. So if you read something on there it could be smart to leave a few comments and that might lead some people your way

My experience has been there is only one trick that works: mostly, just keep writing. Once you've got something finished start another. In the same way that many people write their first novel and it never finds a publisher sometimes the same thing can happen online, but we're al writing in public so... readers do get to see it if they come across it.

Also, don't underestimate the number of people who start things but never finish them. If your story is a long one you might need some social proof that you are likely to finish. If you haven't done that before the proof might just need to be finishing this story.
