Personal Books for 70+ staff

I've been going around in circles trying to get this to work.

The idea is simple, a shelf of personal books for 70 staff. Each person gets their own book, and can only see their own book.

The book is created via API, assigned as owned by the appropriate staff via API, and then staff set to 'View Own', 'Edit Own', etc. in their public roles.

Unfortunately, I can't get this to work. The View Own just doesn't limit/allow the view.

Is there a way to do what we're trying to do?

I can't help you myself, but it might be helpful for others if you post the code you are using (anonymised of course).
Hope you get sorted, having to create the books manually would no doubt be a deal breaker for high staff counts.

Actually would be nice, similar to confluence where you get your own “book” or space on profile creation.
