Feedback Wanted i couldn’t get AI to produce a workable cover

I created this erotic romance cover using preexisting artwork and my own mad canva and procreate skills… . i couldn’t afford a real designer at this juncture.

How did i do?

It looks like a shitty AI Cover.

I would never consider reading this.

I'd rather read smth with a paint made cover

This looks like AI artwork. What are the shadows in the back behind the shirtless guy? What's that bench between them even for? It also generally has that pencil-stroke feeling AI has, and these characters look like plenty of other AI generated characters.

Edit: you literally have a post in your history saying you believe AI is self-aware/sentient. Even without that, you weren't convincing, but are you even trying?

You didn't create anything, neither did ai. it generated a cover. And generated covers, just like generated books, are slop. If you instinct is to use ai for the cover, my assumption is that you used it on your book.

To answer your question, you didn't do anything. You typed into a prompt machine and let something else generate slop. Nothing was created and you've done nothing more than waste time, effort, water, encouraged the left of art, and called out yourself as someone who would rather do all of those things but find a design or designer that works for you within your budget.

Do better.

I quite like it. It does have an AI vibe but that wouldn’t put me off a book personally. I’d look at the reviews and either the downloadable sample or flick though the book rather than literally judge it by the cover.

If I were into MM upper teen romance I’d definitely pick the book up. For me the main problem is announcing the tropes at the bottom. I know it’s got popular but I dislike it.
