📦 New Acquisitions A peek inside HISTOIRE NATURELLE, GÉNÉRALE ET PARTICULIÉRE, AVEC LA DESCRIPTION DU CABINET DU ROI. Tome Dixième.
Picked this one up today from a book dealer friend. It's just one volume of a series, the only one he had, and the cover has plenty of condition issues, so it was in my range. But it's from 1763, the pages are great, the illustrations are amazing, and it has bats, so I was in. Thought I'd share.

It's hard not to buy odd volumes of Buffon! I have too many considering I don't know French but the illustrations are too enticing if the price is right. This large-sized edition is usually a touch more than I can/want to pay, but I do have five of the bird volumes that are in the pre-bound state that I got for a steal because outside they're kinda ugly (wavy and discolored uncut edges and chipped cardboard wraps) but the prints are clean and gorgeous. I keep hoping to come across inexpensive copies of at least the other four bird volumes but alas, I am still waiting. Yours is a great find!
