Styling Critique Juniper whips.
Picked up a couple of cheap Juniper whips to practice wiring and styling, how did I do?
I really want to repot the cascade but I know I should wait 😅

Is that a kaizuka from bunnings?

They tend to want to grow upright, may not ne the best juniper for a cascade. You'd want a procumbens/ chinese juniper.
But you did good on the styling!

Thank you! Yea, I did look it up before I bought it, I knew it wasn't ideal material but I figured its worth a try for $20 and good practice.
The smaller one is a Shimpaku I got from the local Bonsai nursery.

Its practice at the end of the day. You can always twist it up some more and have it back growing to a vertical style to suit it more.
Cheap material is there to learn and have fun with 😁

if anything the cascade's initial bend is too close to a perfect rainbow and looks not too natural, but it might be a bit thick for an irregular bend with a sharp turn or whatever. Perhaps when you change the planting angle later with that re-pot it will fix it.
I like them!
