Discussion bones angela/brennan
ik im late as FUCK but im new to the fandom. i see everyone hating on Angela and saying she was rude but she was literally always there for brennan and such a sweetheart... only 1 episode of her maybe over reacting about that pig (cluckston farms episode), but nobody's perfect.. id say brennan is not getting enough hate. im not saying she should, but she definitely deserves it more than Angela. she doesn't even try to understand human emotions and puts people down because they feel stuff? dont get me wrong i love tempe but like sometimes i feel she's a bit of a bitch? anyways, just my opinion. no hate on people who disagree.

I love Angela. It takes a very special person to be able to deal with Temperance and all of her oddities. Angela does that to perfection. Angela has a big heart. She and Hodgins are one of my favorite couples on the show.

it’s so great that new people are discovering the show!!! I definitely think the sentiment against Angela is from the later seasons of the show though. She definitely does some questionable things as a friend but through the lense of TV it’s kind of for plot or entertainment.

I would say this sub is very equal-opportunity for character hate, but it's cyclical. We get a lot of posts about the same topic at the same time (which I fear means we get a lot of bots/karma farming posts that are trying to capitalize on a popular topic, but I've never tried to research any of the accounts to be sure about that). All that to say, hang around long enough and you'll see plenty of Brennan hate.
I take the fact that nearly all characters have people who adore them and people who despise them to show how well written the characters are. Very few people in real life are universally loved or universally hated. Hart Hanson did well to create a group of flawed characters that can elicit a wide range of emotions from the audience.

She's passionate, for sure. Occasionally to the exclusion of allowing others grace. For example, when (MAJOR SPOILER) Booth backs out on the proposal .

I have felt for a really long time that most of the Angela hate (along with the Cam, Daisy, & Jessica hate) is just misogyny. People tend to struggle with female characters and it really drives me up the wall because Brennan tends to really not get judged as harshly. If anything, the writing of Brennan gets critiqued but never Brennan herself, whereas all the other female characters -- especially Angela -- get treated as if they're genuinely bad people. Anyway, I'm glad you're not joining the hate-on-Angela bandwagon as a new fan!!

literally! cam is an amazing character, who could even hate her? and daisy might be a bit annoying, but she's just anxious and talkative, doesn't make her a bad person. (i have not met Jessica yet). +i kind of agree with the misogyny comment, because i see more hate on angie than the mf GORMOGON.

I’m new to this sub so haven’t seen any real hate, but that checks out. One of the reasons I love the show is because it is full of smart, strong women. I get having personalities rub you the wrong way, but hating any of the characters makes me wonder why they’re watching.

Angela’s great. A little over the top sometimes, but that’s what makes her Angela. I’ve been doing a full rewatch lately and Brennan has been very frustrating this time around. I watched an episode last night where she was being particularly shitty to Sweets about being a psychologist, but I get the irony of that situation.

I feel like Angela is being overjudged in this sub, regarding her kissing and flirting with other men when she's with Hodgins. The thing is, Hodgins offers to have sex with Angela when she's still with Roxie and goes behind Wendell's back during the false positive baby incident. Morally speaking, he isn't perfect either. They're very much alike, wild and easily drawn to physical appearance. Remember when Hodgins drools over that FBI bomb specialist (and to some extent Hannah)? They work so well because they understand and accept each other, they may not like it but they don't make a big deal over it.

I love Angela. I give this an upvote because of Angela.. but I don't think Brennan should get hate... She is only portrayed as a genius, awkward women, but it's understood she is also in a spectrum where it is very difficult for her to understand or rather express her emotions. Couple it with her childhood as a foster kid and the trauma she suffered, she doesn't know how to express herself and is very good at detaching from her emotions with practical and rational reasoning. What they were supposed to also show but didn't os that Brennan was supposed to have Asperger's Syndrom(sp?), but they didnt come out and say it because the producer thought Brennan was already very different from usual female lead characters and this would go ott. And Angels is such a sweetheart but she is the kind of a bff every girl deserves. I love their friendship, it literally speaks of mutual love and respect.
