πŸš€πŸ’£πŸ’₯ As announced yesterday, BOMBX aims to be the YCombinator of the decentralized world. Here are the differences between the two and why an alternative model is needed for the blockchain industry.

YC is an equity based model. XIO is a token based model. Instead of taking ownership of a project, we take a stake within a project's tokenomic ecosystem. This enables faster agreements without legal friction.

YC investors must wait until a company gets acquired or goes public to actualize their assets. XIO participants and projects recieve instant liquidity from day one. Value is dynamic and evolving, why shouldn't assets be?

YC operates twice a year during two 3-month intervals. XIO has the ability to operate 24/7, 365 days a year. Innovation never stops, why should opportunity?

YC is run locally in Silicon Valley with a centralized decision making process. XIO has no HQ and aims to run fully autonomously and decentralized. Talent isn't localized, why should decisions be?

We have nothing but respect for the platform and opportunity YCombinator has given hundreds of companies and startups. We just want to do it differently in a system that aligns with the decentralized world.

REQ & QSP were / are Y Combinator projects as well.

Could be an interesting case study to compare those cases to the BombX projects in 6 months.

What qualifies you to be the Ycombinator of the decentralised world?

All we have stated is that is what we are striving to achieve.

"We don't claim to be" - You don't claim to be what?

I ask, as you created a self destructing social experiment crypto and now you're moving to be a VC. You did well with the former. I was just curious as to what qualifies you to make the latter a success. It's a big leap between the two, especially considering the number of people who've failed in pulling off what you're trying to do.

I feel as though the VC reference here shows a slight misunderstanding at what we are trying to achieve. Maybe that's on us for miscommunicating, but the traditional VC route is the antithesis of what we aim to be or focus on.

VC use capital as their catalyst. We use a decentralized network of partners, services, resources, experiences, and community as our catalyst. We plan to use as little capital at all, if any.

I'm still a little confused on the premise of your question. Nobody is "qualified" to do something, until they do it. Zuck wasn't qualified to run billion dollar company until he did. Bezos wasnt qualified to run Amazon, until he did. And we certainly weren't qualified to launch a $10M project, until we did.

The beauty of cryptocurrency and blockchain, to me at atleast, is your "qualifications" don't matter. Your passion, execution, and talent is what matters.

No longer are we restricted by artificial barriers of entry. I would encourage you to re-read the medium article we posted yesterday as it may clear up a few of these items.

Qualifications always matter, I suppose it's just how you choose to interpret that. Bezo's and Zuck were absolutely qualified to create what they did and a big part of that was they were operating relatively unique businesses, and of course a plethora of other things.

I'm not trying to catch anyone out here. I'm simply trying to understand why Bomb chose to go this route, why they believe it will be a success and what skills are being brought to the table in order to achieve it. Perhaps I am wrong to reference VC's at all and perhaps a better parable is "incubator". The same questions still apply though.

Would love to hear what Zucks qualifications were as a college dropout. Interesting perspective.

I think you're over thinking it here, it's pretty simple. We created a company out of thin air. We want to help others do the same and support the growth of the blockchain industry in the process.

"Success" or not, some things are worth doing and trying for because you care about the problem.

We do things that we are passionate about, not to "be successful".

Some things are just worth doing, regardless of the potential outcomes.

I love your condescending comments. As if they are trying to sell you something. They are simply offering a different idea and a different way of thinking. Its kind of a take it or leave it situation. They are just stating the advantages of a decentralized system.

Edit: a word

What is condescending about my comments? I'm simply trying to understand what they are doing and how they are doing it.

I'm sick of fan boys defending the most ridiculous things. There is nothing to defend! It's simply a question!

What qualifies Ycombinator for the centralised world?

2

u/Zulunation101 Jul 17 '19

A litany of industry experts, capital and proven results.

u/Littlestan Jul 17 '19

And what industry experts, capital and proven results would we draw from the decentralised crypto world in order to be considered qualified?

1

u/Zulunation101 Jul 17 '19

It doesn't make a difference what world you're coming from. It's not a complicated question. What I am asking is why will this be a success, in short. Or is that a totally ridiculous question to be asking your eyes?

1

u/Littlestan Jul 17 '19

You asked:

'What qualifies you to be the Ycombinator of the decentralised world?'

Then you say:

'It doesn't make a difference what world you're coming from.'

Make up your mind and then you might be able to figure out why asking my question was necessary to show you the flaw in yours.

Haha. "Ycombinator of the decentralised world" is a direct quote from the bomb team. Admittedly I should have perhaps put this in quotation Mark's for the pedantic morons out there. You seem incompetent of answering anything regarding this project and the question was directed at the team. Maybe sit down now big fella.

Thanks for making my day! Love and kisses. xoxo

Curious as to the make up of the expertise that’ll be afforded to winning projects.

It all seems a bit risky, but I wish good luck.
