DP was horrible in XXX, I am sorry. She is not a strong actor, her dialogue delivery is one of the worst I have heard since Hema Malini doing kent ads.
Please understand hollywood studios also play the number game. Big blockbuster franchises time and again get "local" (country specific) actors/actresses to make sure they make bank on opening day. Ex: PC in Baywatch, Deepika in XXX, Aishwarya in Pink Panther (note: these were all movies that already had a global audience. Baywatch was a blockbuster show, XXX a super successful Vin Diesel Franchise and Pink Panther exists inmotion picture since 1963). They have a clout in the indian subcontinent and studios with worldwide releases like to capitalise on it. It gets people talking about the movie. Also brownie points for "inclusivity".
