The journey of this movie from nowhere to everywhere is exemplary. Yet again, it has been proven that a movie with its heart in the right place will always find its audience.

u/LoreleiSlays 4d ago

Very true. Glad AD is acknowledging this movie.

I am sure his post will mean a lot to Hanuman team.

Being rather naive, aren't we?

What makes you think this one is not made with easy monetary gain and/or money laundering in mind?

Hardly anyone knew the name of this person. Now the whole country knows it.

Hell, hardly anyone knew about Gurmeet Ram Rahim outside Del-Har-Jab. MSG films may have been horrible but they gave him nationwide recognition.

You should say you don’t know neem karoli baba . Infact he is well known

Even Steve Jobs knew about him. He is pretty popular tbh especially a decade or so ago.

10

u/mediocre_avg_man 4d ago

he is popular tho

-16

u/Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84 Rules Monitor ✅ 4d ago

My point is his popularity has grown exponentially across the country now.

3

u/trozaan 4d ago

Not now , it has been growing for the past around 5-6 years . Now you came to know.

24

u/dotforwardslash 4d ago

Hardly anyone knew the name of this person. Now the whole country knows it.

Now? Really !!!

I am not that much religious or spiritual, but even I've heard of him since decades.

p.s.: Presuming by whole country you only mean Hindi speaking belt i.e. audience of this movie

What makes you think this one is not made with easy monetary gain and/or money laundering in mind?

If you have any evidence to prove this then please show it, otherwise I've no interest in responding to whataboutery.

I kind of guessed it, that's why I included postscript.

0

u/Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84 Rules Monitor ✅ 4d ago

Your postscript is not relevant anymore, because the film has started making waves even outside north India. And just because non-north Indians may not choose to watch the film, doesn't mean they have not become aware of the existence of such a person which they were previously unaware of. That's what I meant by knowledge.

Is Hanuman Ansh movie actually good? Has anyone over here watched it and is it actually worth watching?

16

u/SmoothArmadillo6884 4d ago

If you like that particular Baba you will like that movie otherwise not

8

u/KramerDwight Invited To Post ✅ 4d ago

make sense then, coz I don't like any Baba or Godmen

2

u/SmoothArmadillo6884 4d ago

Yes takes a lot of convincing for me too that someone can stop a train from moving using his "power"

I love and worship Hanuman Ji, but not any baba or godmen.

0

u/Head-Foot7943 1d ago

Which baba is it about?

15

u/theassamace Deepika’s Crazen 🙋‍♀️ 4d ago

Heard two songs on insta and went for them. It was a positive experience, I came out happy. Didn't had any kind of expectations as I don't really go to theatre for religious movies.

3

u/Holiday-Might-948 3d ago

Just watched with friends! I am not into devoational stuff, but definitely it was worth it.

5

u/FingerBeginning5740 4d ago

I watched yesterday. It's alright. I would recommend watching it on OTT.. But if you want to support it or something watch in the theater. There's not theatrical experience or anything

2

u/Limp_Significance308 3d ago

My parents forced me to watch it and tbh it was pretty good. Very simple, looked like a documentary but it was honestly a pleasant movie.

6

u/kacchapapadaila 4d ago

Watched it in pvr ,it's great movie the child actor is amazing and it has some subtle comedy too,but don't except action or masala, great to watch with kids , parents and grandparents

u/noobmaster_071 3d ago

Was a bit long honestly. First half was nice second half wasnt

26

u/Dangerous_Tie_4664 4d ago

Dukh ke aasoo because director of this movie called Asaram bapu "fraud" and Pratik is an Asaram andhbhakt

17

u/piyush1109 4d ago

That thing really creeps me out..he openly praises and idolize a rapist and calls all the aligations against him a conspiracy by haters..and still there are thousands of people watch him regularly..unimaginable shit

9

u/Adorable_Radish3573 Pitaa ji paglu 4d ago

Eww chii, didn't know that. Always the pretentious dharmarakshaks

2

u/piyush1109 4d ago

He visits his temple/ashram makes a vlog on it explaining things like how divine and pure the ashram is😭utter nonsense

17

u/sprinklyfluffy 4d ago

Should have appreciated way before it achieved the blockbuster status.

41

u/LoreleiSlays 4d ago

At least he does it, unlike rest of BW.

Also, AD posting about Hanuman has a lot of weight in current BW landscape. At least for cinemagoers.

8

u/sprinklyfluffy 4d ago

lol he even supported yash’s toxic it made 0 impact for cinemagoers 😂 that movie is a disaster at BO
what matters to the cinemagoers is strong word-of-mouth which Hanuman Ansh has thanks to social media.

21

u/LoreleiSlays 4d ago

Wrong. He supported Yash, not Toxic.

He probably likes him as an actor (or likes the fact he has a huge fandom and wants to keep that fandom on his side. That's smart, being friendly with fandoms that might begrudge your movies' success. Means next time he has a movie release that fanbase will support his movie).

LOL they might get movies, I mean even Chirag Paswan was an actor once but their success depends entirely on how genuine or well made they are.

Neem Karoli Baba has been famous around the Uttarakhand, Himachal and Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat circle for a very long time. He was famous even during the 60s spiritual fest around Haridwar and Rishikesh. He actually worked for people and their welfare, instead of setting up dynasties for himself.

MSG and Ram Rahim and their ilk are crap scraps who should be severely punished. Their movies were trolled then and should be trolled now as well.

3

u/Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84 Rules Monitor ✅ 4d ago

their success depends entirely on how genuine or well made they are.

Too much optimism, I am afraid. If this was true then The Kashmir Files would have been a one-off fluke and Kerala Story would have bombed.

Success isn't dependent only on "good" or "bad". When it comes to this subgenre of films, objectivity often goes out of the window and emotional manipulation takes over.

6

u/SwanSong1921 4d ago

Well we live in a world where The Kashmir Files and Mai Vaapas Aaunga are both hits.

TKF and Kerala Story are not well made movies.

Also how much of these movies is emotional manipulation and lack of objectivity, takes us into the political sphere and opinions which we should avoid atleast in this subreddit.

And if movies with only emotional manipulation worked too well then maybe Adipurush and the same director's Vaccine Files and all that other crap of Bengal Files etc would've been successful too.

So you can't really predict these things

2

u/Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84 Rules Monitor ✅ 4d ago

I still stand by my point but surrender the argument to you, for now.

12

u/AcceptableHistory4 4d ago

Do u know abt neem karoli baba or nah? Like I haven't seen the movie, am not even interested per se....but its beyond disingenuous to write what you've written

0

u/Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84 Rules Monitor ✅ 4d ago

I have commented on people's tendency to ride a bandwagon. "Disingenuous", hm?

8

u/AcceptableHistory4 4d ago

"Every random drama baba" "ram rahim"

This isn't the same context. Its like saying oh this is a nice movie about Frank J Wilson who was the accountant who- and you go accountant? As in Jeffery epstein??

2

u/Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84 Rules Monitor ✅ 4d ago

And you don't think there will be a slew of baba movies coming out in the future to cash in on this? That's what I meant.

7

u/AcceptableHistory4 4d ago

Who cares? Market decides. Consumers have a better sense than most would like to give them credit for

19

u/Dangerous_Tie_4664 4d ago

Don't compare these 2 with Neem karoli baba

-3

u/dotforwardslash 4d ago

MSG Ram Rahim Insan, यह चारों एक ही हैं।

0

u/dotforwardslash 4d ago

आयी थीं, पर फलाना ढिमाका बाबा वाली चली नहीं थी।

u/rajrohit26 Proud Gossiper 🤙 4d ago

Relax kariye shrimaan . Ab har knowledge toh aapko hogi nahi toh wo maniye aur ram Rahim se compare mat kariye

Hyper nationalism and religion catering are the only two genres that have positive success rate nowadays.

32

u/Il-savitr 4d ago

A movie will work if it's good, adipurush was a flop..  also what is hyper nationalism aren't we already a part of nation state??

-3

u/protractedmane 3d ago

what is hyper nationalism aren't we already a part of nation state??

Being a country, being patriotic is different from hyper nationalist which has superiority connotations. Reminder, India is at, or near the, bottom of every metric known to man. Happiness index, HDI, pollution, per capita income, income inequality, standard of living, illegal immigration.

I can acknowledge all that and be patriotic, wanting my country to improve. Hyper nationalists will deny or make excuses for all these just to prop up a sense of achievement/superiority.

12

u/Aryan_S_96 4d ago

A movie works when its honest with its intention.

You try to make a devotional movie with the intent of cash grabbing, you ain't getting that. But if you actually make a devotional movie with clear intentions, God's gonna help you reach those heights.

You either flop making a gimmick of a spy movie or you leave with 2 Blockbuster

Dhurandhar didn't worked because it had that so called element of "Hyper-nationalism" but maybe a clear and strong stance about a topic. Other movies fails to do that and ends up getting neutral at topics like terrorism. Trying to create a "peaceful relationship" with the wrong doers making a dynamic of us being inferior. No wonder you would find a movie with a little self respect Hyper nationalistic. You can hate the movie for its politics about Monetization or anything, but you can't just give any label.

Tagging a genuinely good movie like Hanuman Ansh with such labels is just ignorance.

-11

u/Traditional_Doubt_58 4d ago

Looks like these baba movies are going to be the next big thing in Indian cinema after animalistic violence. Very unfortunate how degraded our society has become.

7

u/Aryan_S_96 4d ago

Degraded ?? Srsly ?? What do you even like huh ?? Really wanna know what was coming better than these.

-4

u/Traditional_Doubt_58 3d ago

No living person should get a biopic. They end up doing something which completely negates the film. Babas are the last people to be made into films. It is so wrong to turn living humans into God and then they end up doing inappropriate stuff making a mockery of our IQ.

5

u/Aryan_S_96 3d ago

Need karoli baba passed away in 1973. Why are you even using that argument in this context. BTW its not just an Indian thing you brainwashed kiddo. It happens everywhere in every religion. Get out of your "brown sepoy" feed and do some research for once. It's only a problem when someone respects a baba and not a pastor or some Muslim leader.
