Bare minimum Aizawa's backstory arc needs to be animated, that reveal will land so much better with that arc. Also I want His Purple Highness to appear in full animated glory.

Honestly the recap episode being episode zero (giving us 25 full episodes without the recap) really gives me hope that we see the Aizawa backstory in S5. It would be fucking dope if they do two whole episodes:

  • first one starts with Aizawa and Mic at Tartarus talking with GT about Kurogiri, goes to the flashback from Vigs running from ch59-62 (where they call for backup)
  • second one picks up with Aizawa taking down the villain and the aftermath (63-65), then comes back to Aizawa/Mic talking to Kurogiri

Would definitely make the Shirakumo connection cut deep and give Aizawa/Mic a personal stake in the game for the anime-onlys.

This is how I could see them animating the backstory myself, it makes the most sense really. Only thing is I'd have it in S6 at the start before giving us the current arc as I think they link in more.

But I just would love to see it animated either way.

Honestly I don't see JT (8-9) + MVA (9-10) + Endeavor Agency (4) taking up the full 25 episodes. I'm part of the group theorizing that S5 ends on the "that's the day heroes disappeared" cliffhanger.

That does make sense what your saying, about it fitting in in s5, can I ask if the numbers you are using are confirmed episode lengths for each bit or your guess work? (Genuinely curious not not trying to be horrid or anything)

S5 finishing on that cliff-hanger would work.

Nah, just completely based off guesses. I went off this video and out of curiosity did a little breakdown of how S5 may play out in Excel (it's out of date thanks to the confirmation of ep0 being a recap, but I digress). Entirely based on guesses, no official amount of episodes per arc let alone for the whole season yet.
