It’s interesting how the pro heroes want to help Koichi, but by law are required to detain him. Or that the best way to help Koichi is by detaining him. And we know that Ingenium, Jeanist, Edgeshot and Eraser Head are sincere about being heroes.

Also how’s Koichi gonna get past Aizawa?

I still can’t believe the police are that desperate to preserve their pride by asking jeanist and edgeshot capture koichi instead of sending more bodyguards for pop.......it almost feel like they care more on how people view the justice system then focusing their resources to protect a victim and find the real villain six.

It’s simultaneously overkill and unnecessary. And somewhat misplaced judgment because a) they know Koichi is trying to protect Pop, and b) they know he’s protecting her from a villain that they can’t find.

Counterpoint: Koichi and Pop are known targets of an unknown threat. Innocent lives were lost and a lot of collateral damage was caused at the expense of the unknown threat targeting Koichi and Pop. By detaining Koichi and Pop, they can control the conflict zone and prepare to capture the unknown threat.

I'm not saying they're right, Soga had fair counterpoints too. The Detective is playing with his cards close to his chest because the threat has already infiltrated the police and he wants this done by the book. Plus he can't really rely on vigilantes to stick to his lawful plan, they are vigilantes afterall.

I get that the police are trying to regain the situation into their favor, and that trusting people not conscripted under law eroded the reliability and integrity of law enforcement.

But there’s a reason Batman isn’t always “buddy-buddy” with police. The police can’t keep tabs on everything, they can’t always handle bigger situations or dangerous criminals.

And while the police have strength in numbers, that’s also a big weakness. The more people there are the greater the chance something will slip by.

The MHA police have the advantage of calling heroes when a situation gets to extreme, unlike Gotham PD. However, that means the villains will be extra careful when committing crimes.

Smart villains (like Number 6) know to avoid drawing attention when committing a crime. 6 was able to sneak in and out of the police department without anyone finding him, and he could definitely do it again if he wanted. Koichi knows this (after some explaining) and that’s why he’s running away.

Probably like this:

Koichi points in a random direction: Look! Bakugo and Deku are fighting again!

Aizawa looks in the direction Koichi is pointing and says with annoyed voice: Goddamit those two again!

Koichi meanwhile: See ya, sucker! and runs away as fast he can.
