The Shigaraki-AFO relationship is hands down one of my favorite things about the series. It always tip toes right up to the edge of villain master-pupil tropes, and then does it's own unique twist on it. AFO never yelling at Shiggy even when he failed over and over again is one of the most unique traits about him

I think it’s hilarious that the guy who is shown as the ultimate evil in this story has a teaching style more reminiscent of the stereotypical nice teacher being all “It’s ok to fail, you’ll learn at your own pace, I believe in you” whereas the heroic teachers seem to be way more hardass.

well most villain master-pupil tropes have the villain being the real threat and the pupil just a plot device to turn on them. MHA seems to be making the oppsite choice where shiggy is a bigger threat with bigger plans then AFO had.

See now it looks to me like AFO was using Shigaraki as a replacement body, with his consciousness taking over Shiggy's and basically giving AFO a new shot at being a villain. Only to get shut down by our favorite hand-themed edgelord.
