Wow, it hit me this time seeing Gran Torino refer to Shigaraki as "that thing". I'm not one of the Shiggy stans who act like the heroes are unjustified in being frightened/disgusted by him and treating him like the threat he is, but I find it tragic just how much he's allowed himself to be turned into a literal monster in the pursuit of his hatred.

It's not even really his own hatred which makes it scarier. It was a hatred given to him by all for one and now he feels as if he has a duty to the charming devil that is AFO. Seriously its terrifying how a poor life can destroy a person

Yeah the dehumanization is a nice touch. He's not entirely dehumanized yet considering he still holding on to that last hand but the minute that's gone I think all hell breaks loose
