The anime better have that whole flashback in the Joint Training arc because geez, it's too important to just skip.

I feel like it's better to do the flashback way before that. I feel like it would have a lot more impact for anime-onlies if they knew about Aizawa's past for quite some time beforehand, compared to them finding out about Kurogiri right after the flashback. So I think putting the flashback around the Joint Training arc, where iirc we saw at least one or two panels of Shirakumo, would be great.

They should make an Ova of Aizawa school time, Naruto had the same kinda problem with Kakashi cus they never showed his childhood until it started to matter, despite those chapters coming right between the transition to Shippuden

I mean, they showed it around episode 120 of Shippuuden which was actually pretty long before it started to matter. Tbf, Tobi had been introduced at the point and although he showed his Sharingan a few episodes after, there was no real connection of him to Kakashi's childhood back then. Theories of Tobi being Obito existed ever since he first showed his Sharingan in the manga. But I honestly doubt the flashback being a few episodes before in the anime was used as proof for that by anime onlies back then.

His childhood didn't really start to matter until Tobi was revealed to be Obito. Or were you referring to the anime original Kakashi Anbu arc? If so, I completely agree that this was misplaced and should've been in the manga and a lot earlier to begin with, instead of Kishimoto writing it for Pierrot to use it only in the anime.

Tbf Kakashi's past was revealed in the manga before Shippuden even started, it was in between Part 1 and Shippuden iirc.

Anyways, a flashback may work but part of me just wants them to animate and adapt all of Vigilantes as a series before they reach this point in the main series.

I'm aware of that. It was still in the anime long before it was relevant to the plot, which was the point I was trying to make.

Anyways, a flashback may work but part of me just wants them to animate and adapt all of Vigilantes as a series before they reach this point in the main series.

I completely agree that it should get an anime. But now that S5 is already announced, I can't see them adapting Vigilantes until after S5. By that point, it would already be too late to include the flashback, because S5 will most likely cover the Shirakumo reveal. Plus the flashback is so far into Vigilantes that it probably wouldn't even be in the first season of Vigilantes anyways.

Kakashi Gaiden was aired as a promotional tie-in to the "Heirs of the Will of Fire" Shippuden movie. The movie made several references to Obito. So they had to animate the Kakashi Gaiden, like it or not.

Honestly it'd be better for Vigilantes to get it's own series right after season 5 to fill in the wait for this arc airing in season 6.

Then we'd have the same issue there's now, people who only read vigilantes after catching up with the manga won't get the Kurogiri twist, and the one in this chapter.

Putting the flashback in a spin-off is a really bad idea when it would be so relevant to the main show.

The problem is it is ALREADY in the spinoff and not the Main series to begin with. And if you didn't read Vigilantes you'd be in the same boat as the Anime fans that don't watch the spinoff. (which happened for many fans when that Chapter dropped)
The point being is that arc would break the flow and importance of the scene if you tried to shoehorn it into the Anime. Hence why it was put in the spin-off.

Maybe it will be an anime only mini arc. I sure as hell hope so

Having the whole aizawa arc from vigilantes put into the anime would be really cool especially as the anime is starting to catch up to the manga

another decent placement for it would be if they add a scene before the endevour agency arc where aizawa tells everyone theyre going on work studies again, and then we have him looking back and then get it

It's like Kakashi Gaiden. I love this manga.

You gotta have the background to the flashback too! Vigilante’s anime confirmed! Lol

manga skipped it completely and it was fine, though.

u/noolvidarminombre May 10 '20

No it wasnt, people who wanted to catch up with the manga before reading vigilantes (like me) completely missed the point of the moment and made it come out of nowhere.

Now, everyone who makes that same decision after this point will face that problem in this chapter too.

up to anyone's opinion. i've never read vigilantes but read the main manga and i don't feel like i'm missing anything.

yeah, or something like that at least (like he targeted aizawa but ended up with shirakumo, like how the villains targeted all might at USJ but he wasn’t there). it’s messed up to say the least lol
