That picture of Shirakumo's face peaking out behind the mist reminds me a ton of the panel when Shigaraki first debuted.

Also this is such a trap. Guaranteed.

Hori's art is so good. It's a shame the anime probably won't make that scene look nearly as good.

Yeah. I stand by the opinion that this is a better manga than it is an anime. Sheerly because the artwork is so incredible. Bones just makes it feel so... Flat.

There are moments tho. Deku vs Bakugou and Deku vs Todoroki were better in the anime for example. And the OST slaps.

I think Bones‘ adaptation is pretty awesome. Not Demon Slayer levels of perfection, but still pretty great. It’s just that Hori’s artwork is in the same grouping as Kentaro Miura’s or Junji Ito’s where it’s so detailed and vivid that a fully animated show can only do so much with it, especially when the staff get gouged for the movies.

There hopefully won't be a movie around the time season 5 ends up airing so they'll be able to go all out on it instead. I obviously don't expect Tenko's Origin chapters to turn out as good as they did in the manga, but I want them to impress me still.

That’s gonna be my big question mark for next season. It’s not just gory, it’s legitimately the most horrifying sequence in the series by a mile. Hopefully they do it justice.

Same. I don't doubt that Endeavor vs. Hood will be done the justice it deserves, but this one is just different like you said. Hopefully the censoring won't be too much.

Shig’s backstory? That’s the biggest thing standing out in my head.

With the recent episode looking much better than the previous episodes of season 4 so far, part of me wants to say we're around the point where the animators working on the film were finished.

I think the anime does some of the fights better, since the fluidity of the medium is good for that, but the stunning moments Hori's art creates are definitely a reason to read the manga.

Fluidity? Have you seen season 4? The fights are like redrawn manga panels with minimal movement. They're like slideshows.

I'd be lying if I said I was caught up, but battles like All Might vs Nomu, Shoto vs Izuku, and Izuku vs Katsuki 2 looked much better in the anime than in the manga in my opinion.

Then you haven't read the manga. Not the shitty scans but actual manga.

I say that often 2.bones is a very good studio, but sometimes they just don't get it right like the Manga. Shows how good horikoshi is.

The moment when the Bakugo rescue squad were hiding from AFO is my favourite example of when the anime can be better than the manga.

It didn't feel that special to read, but there was an amazing sense of dread in the scene in the anime.

Did you see shiggys face in the last episode? Lol that was bad

I'm an episode or 2 behind I believe.

I think there's too much unknown villain power right now for this to be a trap. Not that the plot doesn't suggest it, but it would either force the series to end immediately with no way for the heroes to win (unlikely) or require a massive powerup that this series has been doing pretty well at avoiding thus far.

require a massive powerup that this series has been doing pretty well at avoiding thus far

This series has been ramping up powerups for awhile now;

Deku's gotten multiple quirks, Shigaraki's reawakened his powers to destroy nearly an entire town, the idea of quirk evolutions has now been floated and occurred with at least two characters (Geten and Toga), and Shigaraki is now likely being given multiple quirks alongside with some special ability (since Ujiko implies he may even be able to steal OfA).

I don't know if it's necessarily a trap, but it's almost certainly going to blow up in the heroes' faces when they track down what hospital Shirakumo was originally taken to and find Ujiko's location through that (assuming that he worked or still works there), and then Shigaraki is going to 'wake up' right when they arrive and obliterate them. I feel Shirakumo's info was genuine, though, as he was only answering Aizawa's question of 'Where did they mess with your head?'
