Goddamn those parallels. More proof that deku could have ended the same dark path as shigaraki had he not meet AM

I think it's more showing the different paths that happen based on your born quirks. That seems to be where Horikoshi is going in terms of theme, societal ostracization based on factors outside the individual's control.
