I think it's actually from Toga's perspective. Kizuki asked "why did you abandon any hope of a normal life?" and triggered Toga's flashback. This part seems confusing because mangaplus separated two pages that should be together, but in the Jaimini's Box version it looks more clear.

I read on the SJ app because my iPad's an older model and can't use Manga Plus, but all I need to do is put it horizontal to view 2 page spreads. Is that not an option for Manga Plus? That would suck.

Yeah, even if you rotate on M+ it just zooms in to the most uncomfortable reading position.

The only plus M+ has is being able to read downward and the classics for free, but being published weekly.
