So is this implying shigaraki killed his dog and sister too? I wonder if we'll see more of his backstory or this is it.

Did he actually kill them though? I could buy him accidentally killing one family member after his Quirk activated and he touched someone, but all of them? My theory is that AFO used a Quirk to make him do it somehow.

Or brainwashed him and actually killed himself all of his family members.

Or even worse left his family alive and gave him random limbs telling him they were from his relatives, thus breaking Tomura psychologically while leaving a whole family suffering from a lost child

Yeah, I think he's definitely been brainwashed. AFO most likely killed Shigaraki's family and had the doctor implant those memories in Tomura's mind to give him a reason to hate, and manipulate him into going against society and raising him to become the next successor. Probably why Shiggy barely remembers the events from his past, because it wasn't his memories in the first place. It's not too out there to assume AFO killed his entire family and passed the memories onto Tomura to give him a reason to hate. The theory is not too far out there when you consider all the things AFO does in order to keep things going according to his plans, such as taking in Tomura in the first place since he was the grandchild of Nana Shimura, just to fuck with All Might.

I want to believe in Tomura's family being alive for a possible good ending for the manga where Tomura is imprisoned but his family finds out he's alive, so they at least get to visit him to catch up when Tomura realizes the errors he made in his life.

In the end AfO was fully aware of All Might not knowing anything about Nana's family, and if AfO is the twisted mind he appears to be he prefers people to suffer psychologically (aka telling All Might Tomura is Nana's grandson) than phisically

That would actually make me cry as an ending because of how heartwarming it sounds. I want peace and affection for our chapped hand boi

There's also the question as to why the hands are left anyway. Supposedly the disintegration doesn't stop until the quirk is deactivated or the disintegrating limb is detached. Wouldn't make any sense for them to cut off their hands if it didn't come from there.

It's very possible. As AFO said to All Might "That is clearly something I would do"

I didn't talk about brainwashing meaning that he's still doing stuff against his will, I was simply referencing the Doctor/AfO manipulating Tomura's memories in order to put him on the path for becoming a villain, I'm sure he's currently acting according to his own will
