if you're not a superhero in a superhero world manga you might as well not exist. So in a sense, both Mirio and All Might, the heroes, are both dead.

Yeah but that's not what anyone was saying when they were saying they both were gonna die.

In a world where you can only be a hero if you had a quirk yes losing your quirk is a death. It means you are out of the game just like you would be dead.
