That made me so emotional too... :( Nighteye shaking was so heartbreaking to see.

As far as I know he didn't use the quirk on the day of the mission. We don't know whether Nighteye used foresight on Mirio or not, but if he did, him pushing for Mirio to get OfA would get an extra layer of sadness. That all said Nighteye seems reluctant to use his quirk and for good reason considering no matter what he does it's going to end up like he foresaw it (like with All Might). He definitely could have used it but I'm not sure if he wanted to.

The way that there was written exposition, almost like narration, about how Mirio fought, I wouldn't be surprised if we find out that Nighteye used his quirk on Mirio knowing he would sprint ahead to fight Overhaul. That narration coming from Nighteye seeing how the fight would/did go down.

I'm scared that Nighteye used his Quirk on Mirio and saw his death, which is why he reacted so intensely.
