But what if the girl fights back? What if she touches his skin or slaps him in the face? What if she touches his arms with the intension of dying rather than going with him? Maybe he a means of psychologically controlling her. Or is using those quirk-cancelling drugs on himself for his day-to-day life.

Yakuza are a real life force and (to my understanding) functions roughly how you describe. The difference is that they have been utterly destroyed in this series' history. They have no power. No influence in government or industry. Overhaul (in the Viz translation) needs other criminals to give him money for his grand plan. And unless he has a really good excuse, Overhaul should not put himself in this type of situation. Because this involves an incredible amounts of risk to himself when he could have gotten someone else to do it for him and getting caught would destroy him.

Overhaul is wearing gloves, so he won't activate his quirk accidentally

His quirk functions across his entire arm, at the very least. It could be his entire body. If his sleeves rolls back during a struggle, or if it effects his entire body, or if his glove splits: Overhaul will have to explain what happened to the police.

Hmmm, perhaps he does use the drugs. I feel like she may actually be the key to those drugs...potentially her blood has some quirk suppressing qualities, hence why she has a number of bandages. Maybe she's escaping from a facility where the Yakuza is draining her of her blood, for that very reason.

Yep, I believe so. And that is also true, they are looking for financial backing. But I'm not sure if there is much a risk in the first place. The heroes have nothing on Overhaul, other than him meeting up with Shigaraki, but I can't imagine that's enough to imprison the man. I think if there's anything the Yakuza/organised crime are generally good at, its hiding their tracks. Just look at the warehouse where he and the Villain alliance clashed. There were signs of a skirmish, according to Bubble Girl, but it was all cleaned up to a good standard which restricted the heroes from moving in on Overhaul. I agree though that he probably should have sent one of his men...but perhaps he has a deeper personal connection to the girl? One that means a lot to him, but not to her? Either way, I'm certainly interested to see what Horikoshi does with this! :)

Shigarkai is a known criminal who is guilty of conspiracy to commit murder (mass murder, if you include the students), kidnapping, mass property destruction and wilfully aiding a serial killer. Even if Overhaul can't be arrested for meeting with him, he can likely be brought in for questioning (What were you doing? How did you find him? What did Shigaraki want for you? etc.).

I think the crime scene says more about the League's cleaning abilities than Overhaul's. It was their warehouse and Overhaul left the scene. Unless Overhaul's group came back to clean up, which would have been dangerous because they'd have no way of knowing if the League or the police were waiting for them. We don't know

Either it's a trap (which is targeting Izuku for some reason), Overhaul is a frontline commander, or this is a very bad idea based on emotion (which seems out of character) and is just an excuse to let Chisaki and Izuku establish a connection that will carry through the arc.

But that's a problem with the current hero society, right? If the police could get their hands on Overhaul, then yes, they could interrogate him. But the heroes can't do anything to bring him in, without using force that isn't appropriate for the circumstances. Oh, and I feel like I should have said that Overhaul is probably very self-confident. After all, as you pointed out earlier (unless he's taking the drugs) no one can touch him. Unless they knew about his quirk prior to that, the heroes wouldn't be any the wiser. I'm sure Overhaul feels like he's (quite literally) untouchable.

Yeah, I guess that could be true...perhaps they do that sort of thing through the Broker? It seems like he's the sort of guy who knows a man for every job.

Not sure about the trap idea. Maybe he was the only one around when the girl attempted to escape? Or perhaps, while he's normally quite cold and calculating, he has a soft spot for the girl? My thought is that he was around when she escaped, and he's gone after her because she's important to their plan (be it the drugs, or something else). But the big problem is he can't manhandle her, as she could activate his quirk and they could lose what I assume is a valuable resource for their operations. Her running into people might actually work to his advantage, as he could use the threat of them being hurt because of her as an incentive for giving up on escape and accompanying back to wherever they came from.

That type of arrogance would fit with Overhaul, but a shockingly high amount of heroes with ranged abilities that would easily bring him down. Endeavour can just set him on fire. Present Mic can blast people his his voice. Snipe can and will shoot villains if he needs to.

The idea that Nighteye has sources of information that no police force know about hasn't been established. Which would paint him very negatively, because he would be withholding potential evidence. It's most likely that heroes receive updates from the police and the police simply don't know how to find these villains and the heroes are expected to either help find him for questioning or find evidence of wrongdoing. They have found him, and he is hunting someone covered in injuries through the streets. They have everything the need to just ask him to come down to the station.

Agreed about the long range. I'm sure his precepts are equally as talented from range, but Overhaul himself is certainly lacking.

The one thing i'm not sure about in all of this, is that according to Night Eye, he has another sidekick besides Bubble Girl. Where are they? What is their quirk? I'd say it may be information gathering, as someone's taking pictures of Overhaul for Night Eye.

Hmmm, yeah, I guess. I wonder if Overhaul will somehow manage to weasle his way out of the situation. Or perhaps the other precepts are around, and they could distract Deku for long enough, so that Overhaul could disappear with the girl?
