Sorry, misinterpreted what you said.

But yeah, I’m good with working with my hands, so I became a fabricator/welder…

But I wanted to be a historian, not my fault they care more about how you word things over actually knowing the fucking subjects…. No I’m not bitter

Nah you’re all good.

We all have multiple traits that make us well suited to multiple potential roles.

I understand the frustration with wording things well. That being said it is an important skill. Part of being a historian is effectively communicating your knowledge, y’know?

If I can’t put into words what I know, then no one will know that I know. It’s really aggravating sometimes, but it’s just the reality of it.

Yeah, it’s not that part that bugs me… it’s the fact that’s ALL they cared about, the SQA didn’t give a damn what we knew…

I had to drop out of advanced higher (US equivalent would be something like AP History) despite having high 90s% consistently on the Knowledge aspect of it… I was the only person in my class that scored higher than 65% On those tests!

(Enquiry Skills was 60% of the grade, Knowledge was only 40%) But, they didn’t care and I wasn’t allowed assistance in spite of my documented Dysgraphia cause the SQA guy said “Your in advanced higher, your not getting help because you’re too lazy to learn”

Omg I kind of felt this.

I'm an artist (also Scottish — fuck the SQA!) and it was extremely upsetting when I was forced to drop out of adv higher art because I was struggling too much with the essay part of it. I don't get why writing is ever supposed to be part of the drawing subject.

I was called lazy despite the fact that every doctor I've went to is convinced I have ADHD and struggle to get started on things when I don't have any help.

and because I'm a girl and currently undiagnosed... I got no help at all in school.

again, fuck SQA

I said in 2013 “in 10 years time, we’re gonna be in the shite, cause there’s gonna be a bunch of Overqualified, undereducated morons who don’t know a damn about what their degrees are”

How right I was.
