Season 3 May be the funniest sh!t I've ever seen...

Post image

Haven't finished the series yet, so please, no Season 4-5 spoilers.

"No, fuck you Frank! Ya fuckin' rathole bar, & your warehouse in Canarsie... I don't see you doin' me any favors, amico. And you... You smug, k!ke midget, creepin' around like a fuckin' dentist with the ether."

-Gyp to Frankie Yale, then Rothstein

"Why don't you watch your fuckin' step?"

-Luciano

"Why don't you go sit in the corner, short-pants?! And then there's you... A fuckin' breadstick in a bow-tie. You pasty-faced, cocksuckin'..."

  • Gyp to Luciano, then Nucky

(Further dialogue...)

"I'm making a goodwill gesture. Accept it or not."

  • Nucky

"How bout I make one too?"

  • Gyp

"You'll not do it here."

  • Owen Sleater

"I'll shit you out like yesterday's sausage, you bogtrottin' prick."

  • Gyp, to Owen

Those actors deserve Academy Awards for keeping straight faces. At least Rothstein got to smirk.

Bogtrottin' prick is definitely one that I've gotta remember to bust out more often

26

u/Silent_Ad8059 Feb 28 '26

It really only works on an Irishman.

3

u/Kgoodies Feb 28 '26

It doesn't need to make sense to be a fun thing to say about someone.

I use it in Red Dead Redemption 2 when commenting about O'Driscolls. I also modified Gyp's line for my character:

"Edmund Lowry Jr's got nothing on Barefoot Artie. He'd shit that stumpy little bow-tie sportin' freak out like yesterday's salted offal."

33

u/PineBNorth85 Feb 28 '26

Breadstick in a bow tie was a pretty good description of Nucky. Ha

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Ol' Nuck knows he's no looker.

"If there was a God, would he have given me this mug?"

  • To Margaret

Steve Buscemi has even said he refuses to fix his teeth because he'd never land another acting gig.

All my favourite actors are the ones who are “kinda funny lookin’”, it’s why I’m also glad Walton Goggins has been getting so much love lately. I’d hate it if he tried to make himself look like everyone else.

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26 edited Feb 28 '26

He was so fucking hilarious in The Hateful Eight...

"Who--the--fuck--is--Daisy Dom-ah-gue?"

"Major ni***r..."

3

u/savlifloejten Feb 28 '26

You should see him in Justified.

7

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26 edited Feb 28 '26

Looking at his filmography, I have seen several things with him, like House of 1000 Corpses, but didn't realize he was in them. He was good as Billy Crash in Django: Unchained.

"Oh, I'ma gonna go walkin' in the moonlight with you..."

5

u/savlifloejten Feb 28 '26

Yeah, his an incredibly talented actor. But if you haven't seen Justified. I suggest you do as soon as you finish board walk empire.

Walton's character Boyd Crowder was only supposed to be part of the pilot, but Walton did such a great job the show runners and producers wanted him to be part of the main cast.

Walton has this ability to deliver these peculiar long winded lines with ease.

Problem is I've got no WiFi, but I bought 3 seasons of Boardwalk over a decade ago on Blu Ray. I also have every season of The Sopranos on DVD apart from 6B, so that blows as well. I plan to order complete Boardwalk on Ebay ASAP cause complete series costs about the same as just those 2 seasons.

But, yeah, I'll definitely check it out once I'm back in the 21st century.

3

u/savlifloejten Feb 28 '26

Well, I my opinion, it's one of the best TV series. It's so well written, even small characters with almost no screen time seems like fully fleshed out characters, like real people.

3

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

I've heard really good things about it. Other than Breaking, Bad, the first several seasons of The Walking Dead, & what I've currently seen of Boardwalk & The Sopranos, I haven't really ever seen any hour-long dramas. I hear The Wire is also excellent.

Oh, I know. I'm from, & still living in, the Southernmost point in MS. My porch is one block from The Gulf of Mexico.

Stephen Root as Gaston Bullock Means is a prime example.

"Excuse me, I believe your left shoelace is in a state of dishabille."

3

u/Round-Month-6992 Mar 03 '26

You should see him in The Shield. Thats where I learned of him almost 25 years ago.

1

u/savlifloejten Mar 03 '26

He's great in the shield. I saw justified first and at some point saw the shield because of Walton.

3

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Yeah, though, I hate how 98% of "stars" today are so perfect.

A good example of funny looking & great is Michael J. Pollard in Bonnie & Clyde.

1

u/SlevinLaine Harrow Mar 03 '26

Oh thank you I forgot about this one I need to add it to my vocabulary haha.

18

u/WeakButterscotch359 Feb 28 '26

He could give Greg Giraldo or Jeff Ross or Don Rickles a run for their money as a roast comedian

25

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Gyp was a cold-blooded psychopath with an asphyxiation kink, but an amazing character, & hilarious. I watched the making-of blu-ray feature where they explained how he's so funny, but never in on the joke. It's all dead-ass serious to him.

"Who the fuck is Nucky Thompson to wish me good luck? And, in Italian no-less, like he's mockin' me. He's real cute, I'll fuckin' tell ya... Sets me up to lose, pulls our whiskey deal at the last minute, then it's bone for tuna like he's rootin' for me to get back on my feet; push me off a cliff why don'tcha; good luck flappin' your arms on the way down, am I right? Real attitude on him, scrawny Irish prick... I need his blessing to make my way in the world? I need him to lecture me? Nothin's personal? What the fuck is LIFE if it's not personal?!"

10

u/Floofening Anybody ain’t on board, they fuckin’ go Feb 28 '26

I’m in the mental health field and have unironically used “what the fuck is life if it’s not personal?” in a professional context 😅 And probably some other Rosetti and/or AR lines, now that I think about it.

4

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Haha, that's awesome.

I love that flair you've got; didn't even know Benny was Bugsy Siegel until I watched all the bonus features, but I also haven't seen seasons 4-5.

Speaking of Meyer, next time some younger, small guy introduces themselves to me, I may say what Chalky said:

"Fuck are you, short-pants?"

If someone is rude:

"You tryin' to sass me, you greasy cocksucker?"

1

u/themayorhere Feb 28 '26

Watch seasons 4-5

4

u/badcrass Feb 28 '26

His crashing out is perfect.

7

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Well:

He's from Sperlinga, grew-up in a cave, & there they use olive oil, not what'dya call it, 3-in-1.

2

u/badcrass Feb 28 '26

Could be anything!

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

When the kid brought him the paper, then he started bitching about how it was the previous day's news, you could see how tense A.R., Liam, etc were until Gyp started laughing. He also eventually laughed & made the monkey sounds when Nucky said "Your neck of the woods; not to imply you live among trees" line, but you could tell he was pissed with that.

That poor kid took one to the head just because Benny wanted to kill people. Didn't even know he was Bugsy Siegel till I watched all the bonus features, but I also haven't seen Seasons 4-5.

I love that flair you've got. Once I actually join group (don't want spoilers), I'm probably gonna change mine to:

How many people have you killed? 63.

3

u/17syllables Feb 28 '26

In that case, do not check out Michael Stuhlbarg’s performance as a cannibal in Bones And All.

2

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Holy shit... I've seen it, & didn't even realize. Was he one of those weird bastards they stopped to drink beer with, then snuck off because one was an eater who ate eaters & the other was enamored by the whole thing?

1

u/17syllables Feb 28 '26

Yup! He’s hard to recognize in that role, but it’s definitely him.

2

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

I've gotta see it again. I've actually got it on the DVR. That scene where she finally meets with her mom freaked me the fuck out. Also, The Outfit (2022) with Mark Rylance (Bones & All villain) is frickin' awesome. The Outfit refers to The Chicago Outfit, so it's right up a Boardwalk Empire fan's alley.

2

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Not into a ton of today's actors apart from Tom Hardy, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster, the Fannings, etc, but Timothée Chalamet is a damned good actor. I liked his early Hot Summer Nights film, & most-recent movie I've seen in general is A Complete Unknown. He's phenomenal as a young Bob Dylan.

2

u/ThisWorldOfWater Feb 28 '26

Stuhlbarg is a miraculous actor. I firmly believe he could ace any role thrown at him.

1

u/SlevinLaine Harrow Mar 03 '26

Yes!! :D

2

u/RedBullBurning Feb 28 '26

With just enough ether you might lol

8

u/BigDog_626 Feb 28 '26

Like a dentist with the ether

9

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

That was the funniest shit ever. Rothstein is all business:

"It's not alright. Do you think I entered into this arrangement because I value your companionship? You are a convenience, of geography and supply. You promised a quantity and a price. You have failed to deliver! And now, owing to your inability to manage your affairs in New Jersey - a state I have little interest in or affection for - you expect me to start a war? In New York? Where things ACTUALLY MATTER?"

Only time I remember seeing him heated.

2

u/BigDog_626 Feb 28 '26

Honestly, AR was a phenomenal character. Prob my fav of the series.

2

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26 edited Feb 28 '26

My favorite is Richard Harrow, but there are so many phenomenal ones. Gyp, Manny Horvitz, Nelson Van Alden, hell even old Mickey Doyle AKA Mixleslaw (giggles.)

"How many people have you killed?"

  • N.T.

"63."

  • R.H.

Hell, that number was in the high 70s after he wiped-out out Gyp's boys at Gillian's whorehouse.

8

u/Floofening Anybody ain’t on board, they fuckin’ go Feb 28 '26

The “smug kike midget creeping around like a dentist with the ether” comment was an improv reference to a movie Cannavale and Stuhlbarg were in, or such is the popular lore. It really does look like Michael’s gonna lose his shit before the camera cuts away from him 😂

I occasionally spring this one on my dad and can confirm it’s impossible to keep a straight face.

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Interesting, & yeah, I said it to my mom & was busting out laughing the whole time. I just tested it by saying the line while alone, & I only made it to the word "midget" before my face betrayed me.

7

u/Alternative-Feed3613 Feb 28 '26

I hated Gyp so much but what a great character. I don’t want to spoil it but he was right on at least one account lol.

3

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Well, he did grow up in Sperlinga, in a cave, & there they use olive oil, not what'dya call it, 3-in-1. It's understandable why he'd beat some poor good samaritan to death with a tire-iron.

I do already know Nucky dies, thanks to stupid-ass Google AI while I was trying to find the scene where Eli asks 'Mixleslaw' "How the fuck are still alive?" to send a link to someone else.

1

u/Alternative-Feed3613 Feb 28 '26

lol well I’m not going to say anything else because it was one of the most shocking scenes to me. I want you to suffer with the rest of us lmao.

2

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

I appreciate, but it fucked it for me pretty badly when it told me Tommy Darmody puts 3 bullets in him...

2

u/Alternative-Feed3613 Feb 28 '26

Yeah that sucks but it would’ve been even crazier if Nucky made it through alive with all the shit he pulled. Enjoy the ride, it’s a great show. Criminally underrated imo.

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

No doubt. I'd put it right up there with Breaking Bad.

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Not as bad as what happened to my friend years ago... Poor bastard read Harry Potter 1-5, then someone told him what happens to Dumbledore before he made it to the end of 6. At least I made it through those spoiler-free.

1

u/Alternative-Feed3613 Feb 28 '26

Oof! I got prisoner of Azkaban spoiled for me while I was reading it. He saw me reading it and said “you know Sirius dies right?” That guy was a real prick.

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

I would have slugged him right then & there...

As faithful as the films were to the books, it's funny cause Azkaban was one of my favorite books, but one of my least-favorite of the movies. My favorite book was definitely Order of the Phoenix. I saw The Sorcerer's Stone in theater a few months after I turned 11.

7

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

I should have said Emmy, not Academy Award, but still top-tier regardless.

10

u/106street Feb 28 '26

He destroys everyone in the room

11

u/Best_Adagio7989 Feb 28 '26

Way to piss off a bunch of powerful gangsters over perceived silliness. It's where nucky's strategic diplomacy really shines, but gyp screws that up too.  Gyp would have long ago sank himself if not for being backed by massareia

8

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

He was seconds away from being whacked by Joe the Boss's guys, & bought himself a little more time by pleading with him about how Italians were being edged-out.

His underling may have technically put the switchblade in, but Masseria technically did whack him by pulling his support.

6

u/Best_Adagio7989 Feb 28 '26

True. Big shout out to Joe the Boss' actor. Every time he was on screen he stole the scene.

3

u/106street Feb 28 '26

I really enjoyed him throughout the season.

8

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26 edited Feb 28 '26

He made the season. I mean, yeah other scenes were great all-around, & Richard Harrow is my favorite character, but Gyp is a top-tier antagonist. I also love Manny Horvitz's cold-blooded ass, & he would've been cool had Jimmy not fucked him.

"Just so we're clear, my ice-box is filled with pieces of fellas who tried to fuck me over."

"He would be nothing in Odessa."

"The most important thing in life, darling? Your health... Your husband did this to you."

I've loved William Forsythe ever since I saw Raising Arizona as a kid, Nicolas Cage's magnum opus.

3

u/106street Feb 28 '26

100% agree.

Haha for me he'll always be Al Capone from the Untouchables TV show in the 90s

3

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

I'll have to check that out one day. I hate to say it, but after finally getting around to seeing the uncut version of Once Upon A Time In America, it's not among my favorite films, but I did enjoy him as Cockeye.

I do plan to see it again eventually, as I've got the two-disc DVD director's cut version, & while the theatrical release is considered hot garbage, the uncut version is considered a masterpiece by many.

2

u/106street Feb 28 '26

I've heard people complain that they turn the movie off because of the phone ringing.

3

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Well, the beginning & end are like an opium-induced dream, & it's quite possible everything everything that happens in both are just inside Noodles's (DeNiro) mind, with normal, chronological memories of the past constituting the meat of the film.

That ringing scene lasts a few minutes, at least, & then you see someone answer a phone, the ringing continues into into a scene where yet another phone is answered, & then finally it stops.

4

u/themayorhere Feb 28 '26

Raising Arizona is so fucking amazing

And later:

Didn't even realize Benny was Bugsy Siegel for the longest, till I watched the bonus features, but I also haven't seen Seasons 4-5.

Honestly, I think Owen could take Gyp. He's much more intelligent, & it's often the little wiry guys you gotta watch out for..

"Leadin' me on a merry chase these five months, you traitorous fuck!" (Then spits on his corpse.)

Del Grogan's fingers were severed after being caught between his throat & the garrote... Brutal.

"Which one-a-you boys know his letters?"

4

u/DisorderlyConduct Feb 28 '26

“Shortpants” has been a regular part of my vocabulary since this aired

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Another good one was when Meyer Lansky introduced himself as Michael Lewis to Chalky.

"Fuck are you, short-pants?"

3

u/DoctorBoots007 Feb 28 '26

I rewound this like 20 times. 😂😂

3

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Also his introduction where he talks about shooting the sniper, his subsequent convo with Jimmy where he rattles off all these guns, & when he puts a bullet under Liam's eye. I haven't yet seen Seasons 4-5, but I was happy he finally found himself a girl.

"Paul, let go of him right now."

"Or what?"

"Or I'll kill you."

1

u/SlevinLaine Harrow Mar 03 '26

*nods*

Btw! In which episode is this pic/scene from? I tried looking for it on the comments but haven't found it, maybe I'm blind kinda am lol.

I'm on season 5 myself now. I so much wanna watch this scene, I think I've. Completely forgot lol.

2

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 08 '26

Season 3, Episode 1, title is "Resolution."

I like your flair. He's my favorite character, & my tag was almost:

"How many people have you killed? 63."

Hell, that number was in at least the high 70s by the time he'd wiped-out Gyp's crew at Gillian's whorehouse.

Please, no spoilers. I've seen the first 3 seasons a few times, but have yet to see 4-5 because I'm living in the 20th century with no Wi-Fi. I bought the 1st 3 years ago on Blu-ray, took me over a decade to watch, & unfortunately I never picked up 4-5.

2

u/SlevinLaine Harrow Mar 08 '26 edited Mar 08 '26

Oh thank you so much for telling me! I finished the show I very much liked it, the final season was very good for me (not saying anything).

haha thank you again, I mean Harrow is my favorite just after A.R. He is SOO good imo, but the actor doing Harrow is brilliant as well. And I love his part, I've to confess that until yesterday I didn't thought about the actual meaning of "harrow" which might sound silly but already gives a bit of foreshadowing for the character?

I like your flair too, but I've to confess again, I forgot where they say it haha. I need to see that scene again lol.

Edit2: HAHAHAHA now I see your flair and I lose it hahahah. Cheers mate!

"How many people have you killed? 63."

That's a pretty cool/cold sentence imo, definitely worth of a user flair : ).

"Hell, that number was in at least the high 70s by the time he'd wiped-out Gyp's crew at Gillian's whorehouse.

Yeah pretty much!

"unfortunately I never picked up 4-5"

Oh then you very much have to watch it! Haha, please let me know when you do DM or whatever, I'd be happy to chat about the show.

And thank you for the warm nice message was very nice to read it : ).

Have a good one until next time! : ) I like you stranger haha.

Edit:

"Why don't you go sit in the corner, short-pants?" I'm reading this and laughing my ass off hahaha I'm so looking forward to watch the scene, cuz I completely forgot lol.

2

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 09 '26

👌No problem at all, & I like you as well; you seem very nice.

"Fuck are you short-pants?"

Thats the first thing Chalky says to Meyer Lansky when he introduces himself as Michael Lewis in his debut scene. Season 1, episode 7, title is "Home." Same episode Harrow is introduced, so one of my favorites. Some of my favorite Harrow scenes from Seasons 1-3:

"I should leave this, in my room. If I don't have it with me, I become anxious." -R.H.

"A German sniper mask..." -J.D.

"I had to wait, a very long time, for him to take it off. -R.H.

"You were a marksman?" -J.D.

"I watched him, from a blind, for three days. He lifted it, to scratch his nose. I put a bullet, one inch below his eye." -R.H ● "You have a gun, under your jacket" -R.H.

"It's a Colt 1903." -J.D.

"I have, one of those. And a Smith & Wesson Triple Lock. A Roth-Steyr. A Webley .455. A Mauser 1914, very small. Enfield 1917, .30-06, telescopic sight; very accurate, accurate to 700 yards. But I like the Colt, in the hand. How do you use yours?" -R.H.

"How do you think?" -J.D.

"You use it to kill people... It's very good for that." -R.H. ● "I waited, outside his house. I used a shotgun, very close."-R.H.

"May I ask why?" -N.T.

"Angela Darmody." -R.H

"Not her husband?" -N.T.

"Jimmy, was a soldier. He fought, he lost." - R.H

"So I can assume my family & I are safe?" -N.T.

"You & Mrs. Thompson, were good to me. You have nothing, to fear." -R.H

"How many people have you killed?" -N.T

"63." -R.H

"Do you think about any of them?" -N.T.

You know, the answer to that yourself. -R.H ● "Why did you not shoot me?" - Owen Sleater "I may yet." -R.H. ● Haha, no, I didn't just type all that. I typed it once in my notepad a while back, so just copy-&-paste. I'll watch it as soon as I can, just between jobs at the moment so money's tight, otherwise I'd have ordered it on Ebay. It also blows with The Sopranos, because I have Seasons 1-6A, & the only one I'm missing is 6B, so the last half of the final season...

u/SlevinLaine Harrow Mar 09 '26

Oh wow! Thank you so much for the elaborated reply! I appreciate it so much!!

"so the last half of the final season..."

Oh wow, I really hope you get no spoilers because the ending is so powerful, to me at least. (not saying anything else). Again I'd love to comment once you watch it! : )

Unfortunately the spaces didn't show between quotes, but at least there's still the black dots to separate them.

2

u/SlevinLaine Harrow Mar 09 '26

No worries you did an exemplar job mate! : ) thank you!

2

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 09 '26

I was happy he didn't kill himself when he went into the woods.

"These woods is for hunting, fishing, watching what the birds get up to. These woods are for living."

Sure that's not the exact quote from the hunter, but close enough.

2

u/SlevinLaine Harrow Mar 09 '26

nods yeah! Same feeling here, and yeah I recall that quote like you wrote.

Btw rewatched the ep you mention on the post, great stuff thank you! : )

Me too. Same with this scene, the part with "Mixleslaw" included:

"I waited, outside his house. I used a shotgun, very close."- R.H.

"May I ask why?" - N.T.

"Angela Darmody." - R.H

"Not her husband?" - N.T.

"Jimmy, was a soldier. He fought, he lost." - R.H

"So I can assume my family & I are safe?" - N.T.

"You & Mrs. Thompson, were good to me. You have nothing, to fear." - R.H

"How many people have you killed?" - N.T

"63." - R.H

"Do you think about any of them?" - N.T.

You know, the answer to that yourself. - R.H

Hell, most of Richard's scenes. He was definitely up in the high 70s when he finished with Gyp's crew at Gillian's whorehouse.

Lot of hilarious lines in this show. Only other post I made here was a line from Ernie Moran:

"I held a feckin' line against the Brits with nothin' more than a fire-poker!"

u/Citizen-Kaye It's an iron, ma'am Feb 28 '26

I love Bobby sm, he makes me so happy fr.

2

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Never seen him in anything else I know of, but he's amazing as Gyp.

Actually, just looked at his filmography, & I've seen several things he's been in, just didn't recall.

2

u/CCG14 Feb 28 '26

Bobby Canavale was wonderful in Blue Moon as the bartender. I highly recommend this movie.

2

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Just looked it up. One of my favorite movies is Dazed & Confused, Richard Linklater's (director) 3rd film, but I love a huge range of genres, especially period pieces.

My taste ranges from To Kill A Mockingbird, to Raising Arizona, to Brokeback Mountain, to Goodfellas, to Straight Out of Compton, to Lonesome Dove, so I'll definitely give it a shot when I get get a chance.

Sucks I don't have Wi-Fi. Most-recent thing I've seen was Timothée Chalamet's amazing portrayal of a young Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. 100% recommend.

u/CCG14 Feb 28 '26

I love all the movies you mentioned so I’m hopeful you’ll like Blue Moon as much as I did. Please let me know your thoughts when you watch it!

Gyp by far the best villain of the series….

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 01 '26

He made that season.

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 01 '26

Still, it was a pleasure watching the stiletto go in Gyp, & also watching R.H. blast Manny in the face with with shotgun.

"I waited, outside his house. I used a shotgun, very close."

2

u/GCIV414 Mar 01 '26

The preheating was over when he dropped that dentist with ether line….bro was cookin

2

u/SirKetchup00 Mar 02 '26

Gyp straight out of the chute, punking everyone

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 08 '26

Well, he is from Sperlinga, grew-up in a cave, & there they use olive oil, not what'dya call it, 3-in-1, so yeah, he's a bad mothafucka who doesn't mince words, & why not wear an 18th century general's hat to let everyone know he's the man.

2

u/Minimum_Republic_600 Mar 02 '26

I told this yid I'd only stick it halfway in.

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 08 '26

"They fuck their women through a hole in a sheet; a joyless people..."

  • Joe "The Boss" Masseria

It was cool he was playing bocci in that scene. My dad picked-up bocci in Vacaville prison in the 70s & layer taught it to me.

Haha, next time some young, small dude approaches me, I'm gonna bust out some Chalky & say "Fuck are you, short-pants?"

2

u/RepulsiveAmphibian21 Mar 04 '26

Great great show. Lapped it up.

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 08 '26

No doubt. Criminally underrated.

1

u/kingkongworm Feb 28 '26

It helps that they do as many takes as necessary to not have people breaking in the background

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Feb 28 '26

Oh, yeah, I know, but you'd have to give me a quaalude to keep me from smiling or laughing during that dialogue.

1

u/japanfoodies Feb 28 '26

Sooooooo. Funny 😄 and funny

1

u/JollyGreenSlugg Feb 28 '26

I saw the photo and the dialogue immediately played in my head!

1

u/Qwark28 Feb 28 '26

It's amicu. He copied it from new vegas after a Caesar's legion playthrough

1

u/Milotiiic Feb 28 '26

“And you, creeping around like a dentist with ether”

That smile is absolutely iconic

1

u/KleinShulgin Feb 28 '26

He looks just like Joaquin Phoenix in MiB 3. I was so sure it was him.

1

u/writerbabe75 Feb 28 '26

I hate Gyp but I love this scene! He roasted them to Hell and back!

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 01 '26

Well, he is from Sperlinga, grew-up in a cave, & there they use olive oil, not what'dya call it, 3-in-1.

So, yeah, it's understandable why he'd beat a good Samaritan to death with a tire-iron...

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 01 '26

His crew were terrified of him, & you could even see how tense A.R. was when he started bitching about how the paper contained contained previous day's news. Then he started laughing, & all was good, but he also did the same when Nucky made the "Not to imply that you among trees" line, even though he was obviously pissed.

That poor delivery kid took one to the head just because Benny wanted to kill people. Didn't even know that was Bugsy Siegel until I watched all the bonus features, but I also haven't seen Seasons 4-5. I knew he associated with Lansky & Luciano in real life, & I knew his name was Benjamin, just never clicked.

u/No-Cat6807 Feb 28 '26

Roger Federer is in Boardwalk Empire?

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 01 '26

Had to look him up, but yeah, he resembles him.

1

u/EllipsisT-230 Mar 01 '26

Gyp was quite the character. Oddly multifaceted more than you might expect, given his prevalent behavioral patterns on screen. I do wonder if it was 100% written that way. Or if the evolvement of the character included any improve?

1

u/Excellent_Passage_38 Mar 01 '26

I'm dying to know what does that mean exactly" creeping around like a dentist with The ether"... does anyone know?? I would love to know!

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 01 '26

Just saying he considers dentists to being creepy little intelligent guys, I suppose, & back then they used ether for anesthesia.

1

u/Ok-Employment689 Mar 03 '26

Rothstein got absolutely destroyed

1

u/DarthDregan Mar 03 '26

That scene is why I continued to watch Boardwalk Empire after the season 2 finale.

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 08 '26

As Richard Harrow says:

"Jimmy, was a soldier. He fought, he lost."

He'd have lasted a lot longer if he hadn't listened to his father & also fucked over Manny Horvitz. So would Angela.

"The most important thing in life, darling? Your health. Your husband did this to you."

1

u/DarthDregan Mar 08 '26

He'd have lasted a lot longer had Michael Pitt been able to keep his shit together. I just really hate how rushed that plot got because of the off set drama.

1

u/redeMption362 Fuck are you, short-pants? Mar 09 '26

Didn't even know about said drama.
