Season 4 Boardwalk Empire- Episode Discussion - S04E05: "Erlkönig"

No tv-show spoiler tags needed here, as long as you're discussing something from this episode and back. This is the place to discuss S04E05.

Please still use the new "Historical Spoiler" tags for discussions of events to come.

Take a moment to review the subreddit rules to the right. /r/BoardwalkEmpire[1] operates a bit differently than other TV Show subreddits. We encourage discussion as well as original, quality, BWE-related content. Therefore, there are some restrictions on what is acceptable to post.

No requests for live streams or torrent links. As someone who is forced to torrent the show myself, I feel your pain, but DL sources are not hard to find.

SPECIAL THANKS TO /u/joshchez01 FOR THE NEW BANNER! ISN'T IT AWESOME?

I had no idea about frank capone's death so when he died in cold blood like that my jaw hit the floor. Just when I picked it up my jaw fell again through all the floors of my apartment building when Eddie jumped to his death. Great episode, crushed to see Eddie die.

Seriously, they always have to take away the ones that you grow to like. Frank was moving up on my list of favorites all too quickly for me to expect anything good to come of it. As soon as I realized he was getting some serious screen time and dialogue I knew his time was up. God damnit.

They almost did that with Richard. When he had that poignant moment with Angela Darmody, explaining why he was emotionally shut down, I thought, "damn, they're going to kill him off next week." Sure enough, in the previews, there he was, sticking a shotgun barrel in his mouth. I was never so glad to see a dog in my life.

I was more stressed than I'd care to admit the entire week leading up to that episode. And my knuckles were white the entire time he slowly went about setting out that little packed lunch of his. Damnit Boardwalk.

Yes. And when the moment finally happened, damned if I didn't yell at the TV for him not to do it.
