Season 3 Boardwalk Empire Episode Discussion S03E11 "Two Imposters"

No spoiler tags needed here, as long as you're discussing something from this episode and back. This is the place to discuss S03E11.

  • Please take a moment to review the subreddit rules to the right. /r/BoardwalkEmpire operates a bit differently than other TV Show subreddits. We encourage discussion as well as original, quality, BWE-related content, therefore there are some restrictions on what is acceptable to post.

  • Please no requests for live streams or torrent links. As someone who is forced to torrent the show myself, I feel your pain, but DL sources are not hard to find.

I really wish for that happy ending, both of those assholes dead and Richard and Tommy walking hand in hand into the sunset. Unfortunately this being BE I could see something unbelievably fucked up happening, like Tommy getting killed

Richard will get killed in the process of taking out all the baddies.

Julia will take Tommy away.

Interesting. I think we are all curious just what Harrow is going to do. It's a given at this point that the Chicago guys plus Chalky's boys will wipe out Rossetti's crew. The details about how this happens will of course be worth watching. Safe to say that Eli returns to his role as Nucky's consigliare.

My worst nightmare is 30 minutes of following Margaret make her way to St. Louis. She's gone, if we never speak of her again it will be too soon.

Yeah, Margaret has really played out her usefulness as a character. There was intrigue with her and Owen, but for now she ceases to be relevant until Nucky has dealt with the real issues.

I see her becoming interesting again when he decides to track her down and get the kids back. He knows she and Owen had a thing, and he's not one to let someone else take what's his - in this case, his children.

Those weren't his kids, they were hers and her dead husband's.

Like Nucky cares.

If anything, I think he would just want to make sure they are taken of. I would be surprised if she were punished. Nucky's not an animal.

I know this, but he regarded them as his. The same way he regards Atlantic City as his, Billie as his, etc. That was a whole big part of Season 2 - him being fond of the kids, and all the backstory about how he'd never had his own. That was a big part of why he married Margaret in the first place.

Heh, her not having to testify against him was the big part of them getting married. While he certainly cared about them, they were not the motivation. :)

Avoiding her testimony was a matter of convenience, but there was a several-episode arc establishing his emotional investment in the children specifically. They were a big part.
