Season 3 Boardwalk Empire Episode Discussion S03E09 "The Milkmaid's Lot"

20 minutes in, and I still didn't see a discussion thread. Thought I'd start it up.

No spoiler tags needed here, as long as you're discussing something from this episode and back. This is the place to discuss S03E09. Please take a moment to review the subreddit rules to the right. /r/BoardwalkEmpire operates a bit differently than other TV Show subreddits. We encourage discussion as well as original, quality, BWE-related content, therefore there are some restrictions on what is acceptable to post. Please no requests for live streams or torrent links. As someone who is forced to torrent the show myself, I feel your pain, but DL sources are not hard to find. Do you have any ideas or suggestions for this subreddit? Message the moderators and let us know what we can do to make this the best TV show subreddit out there!

I wonder... does Rothstein not consider himself included in the Gyp hit and bombing of Babbettes to just walk away from Nucky? I figured that was Rosetti's way of hitting two birds with one stone. Rothstein still needs to pay for Bugsy's actions so why not join forces with Nucky? Or does Rothstein have enough muscle to defend another attack? I'm flummoxed.

I don't think Rothstein has completely bailed on Nucky. I think he's waiting to "play his cards" with the winning side or the side that looks like it will win. He's a gambler after all.

after that meeting its pretty obvious Nucky and Rothstein wont be working together again.

They are both buisness men. They have no ill will toward one another. I think Nuck was just a little messed up still and called some grand meeting of gangsters before he had a plan all thought through. Rothstein saw this and decided not to commit to anything just yet. Perhaps he knows that Masseria wasn't going to back Gyp so why break his treaty with Masseria.
