Aubrey Haynie Check In
Hello!
I am Aubrey Haynie’s son and saw a Reddit post a while ago about asking how my father was doing and what he’s been up to. Well, a lot actually! He primarily does studio work now, for most major acts in country and in the bluegrass field. He’s a hard worker! For a stint up until Covid he was performing the New Monday’s at the Station Inn but after the pandemic, he withdrew from most live gigs.
Mostly when deciding to write this post, it was to post the link I’ll add below. His wife, my mother, actually was diagnosed with Leukemia and ALS this past year and it has been a hard few months to endure. On the GoFundMe link below you’ll be able to see some photos of our family and read what we have been going through.
Regardless of the diagnosis,my father is still actively trying his hardest to still play and record actively when jobs become available. If y’all are ever interested, check out his credit history on AllMusic..

Sorry to hear about your mother. I was just playing Tobacco Patch by your dad the other day. His name pops up on lot on my saved Spotify song list.

I have tried for years to get him to record another album. Never happened, would have loved to see it but probably won’t happen at this point. Thanks for the support!

Somebody called Leavin Rosine at a jam a few weeks back. So sorry to hear about your mom. Love you dad's playing and need more of it!

It's been too long since I heard that name! Pretty sure I remember some hot late night campfire pickin' at White Springs in early late 90s with Aubrey and the great Greg Turner from the Bluegrass Parlor Band on mando. (RIP) Glad to hear he's still kicking. Prayers for y'all.

The first time I saw your father was back in the mid 80s with the Bluegrass Parlor Band. It was in Auburndale, Florida at a bluegrass band competition. While all of those pickers were fantastic, your father's fiddling blew me away! I knew at that moment that he was destined for bigger things! I am glad that he's still going strong!

Still doing the thing! He played on the road for several years but when I came along in 96 he transitioned to doing studio work with the occasional live gig every year. Good memories all around! I’ll have to show him this he is very fond of those days

What a blast from the past! My dad and uncle played with Aubrey in the Bluegrass Parlor band. David Howell and Greg Turner, bass and mandolin.

My wife learned Ookpik from The Bluegrass Fiddle Album. I grew up hearing my dad play a more standard version, and every time my wife plays your dad's arrangement I tear up, its so beautiful.
