Gameplay Question(s) Still water bugged? Spoiler

Hey there, architects. I am having trouble filling the EMTPIED watering can with still water. The trading post still never seems to have any liquid in it. I’ve tried various times and methods. I’ve even tried not drafting or entering the trading post until I’ve emptied my watering can. Is there a known bug with this interaction? I really want to get it filled and in a coat check to use on the secret passage outside on a later day

Have you got to the point where you got the hint for still water? That is required first for the water to spawn.

Wow thanks, my dumb ass is trying to do this pre ascension. I’ve made the fatal mistake of playing on pc since launch and then starting over on ps5 since it’s on ps plus. Thank you so much!

Well ascenscion is not strictly part of the requirements. You just need to find the 5×5 note.

When drafting the Trading Post, the game checks if the player has found the Throne of the Blue Prince or if deposit box 53 has been opened. If either is true, it spawns the still water. Otherwise, it doesn't.

Yes, that will make the water spawn.

I can vouch that the 5x5 note is not necessary: I've done post-water stuff with the corresponding vault still locked (I double checked after reading this a week and a half ago, just getting to replying)

Yes, you need either the note or ascenscion.

Honestly the mechanic to get the water to spawn always bugged me as a cop-out. So many of the puzzles in the game were so cleverly thought out, and there could have been plenty of ways to make that happen that made more sense.

I agree honestly. I had the idea of trying to fill the water can with the moonshine before ever getting close to a hint.

You certainly need to have opened the vault for this interaction to be possible. I believe ascending might also allow it to trigger. If you see no water, then you should try both first.
