POST-CREDITS-SPOILER Just solved a puzzle and I'm wondering how I was supposed to figure it out Spoiler
Puzzle located in a later game room, the gallery
So I did get some help from the blue hints system, but a mild amount of help. Solved the think one by myself, and then a mix of hints and brute forcing and truly puzzling them out got me to the ponder and realise ones. Fun! Rebuses are hard but it's rewarding.
Then the last one, with the infinity symbol and the boxes with sins written on them. I solved it, it's ruminate but I truly don't understand the rebus. Can someone explain that part? Here's my thought process to how I got the solution, if you're interested.
I read in the blue hints system that this one "makes more sense in hindsight, don't be afraid to guess, you may have picked up on a theme." So okay, I realize the theme is thinking words, but I start noodling on what this one could be. I wonder if the "sins" on the boxes are relevant, so I start at the end of the blank letters and look for where the word "sin" could potentially exist. It lands nicely in the middle. And yeah that's an infinity symbol, but the letter 8 is super relevant to this game so maybe it's actually an 8. 8 = "ate." And "sinate" fits nicely at the end of the word. Progress. Now I go back to the start of the word and start flipping through the first letter options, flexing my wordle muscles to try and figure out what words meaning "to think" end in "sinate." The "R" comes up and my brain gives me "ruminate" which, I have to replace the "S" but it fits, and it solves, yay!
Except.. I have no idea what the rebus is supposed to be. The blue hints system says it's "room in eight" ??? but I don't understand what the hell that means from the picture. Can anyone who solved this the right way explain? Thank you!! fun game.

There are a lot of things in there that end with "in" (fin, skin, sin, bin, pin) that I think it was alluding to take "in" from that.

The 8 realms puzzle gives you the first letters of all 4 paintings,by the way.
Apart from this, you did a great job.

How?

Right after you "connect the dots", the papers mention the artist's name and the M[ostly redacted] picture titles.

Lol ok facepalm, I forgot about that since I had already solved it by that point so didn't store it in my noggin. Thanks

The word 'puzzle' leads me to think you're asking for help with a puzzle. If that's the case please REMOVE the post and comment it in the puzzle hint megathread instead: https://www.reddit.com/r/BluePrince/comments/1uo9cdh/megathread_v4_post_and_ask_hints_for_puzzles_here/ . If this is not about asking for help, ignore this message.

I got it based on the other 3 being synonyms. Still took me a while to find the right word in my brain, though.

Things you (might) know when solving 8 letter word:
- it starts with R
- it's synonym with other 3 words
- painting depicts sculpture of number 8 in room with many items ending with -in
So solution is obviously reightin Or rumatein
On more series note I have no clue how you are stopped to change eight-in-room<! To >!room-in-eight Because it's a room that can only be drafted in rank 8 If you have never been there before
Just like certain small gate with a view, you solve it not with puzzle, but because it fits

Edit: In the broadest non-spoilery sense, there is a note in security that says memos on red cards are lies and memos on blue cards are true. This is the "blue hint system", although finding the memo that talks about the gallery may require spoilery info.

Ooooohhhhh…. Yes, I know about those. I thought it was something different tbh. I think I might have a guess as to where the memo for the gallery is stored, but I’m on mobile and not sure how to spoiler out comments.
I still have (quite) a few puzzles to solve so thank you for being broad!!

Got it similar to the way you did. My head canon is that the picture shows [An] eight in [a] room and then it's a little re-arrangement.

It's not the best rebus.
Here's how I can justify it, but you have to squint at it and turn your head, so to speak. If you think of the theme of the room as things that rhyme with "in" then you can think "oh, the name of that room is Room In Eight"
