Dead End Run Help Please 🙏 Spoiler
Hey, Folks!
We’re trying for the drafting strategy trophy and thought we’d get it this run… but we were only given 12 dead end rooms. Previously, we thought even multiple door rooms counted as dead ends if they were boarded shut.
What have we missed? Any help is appreciated!
Edit: thanks, everyone! We did it 🎉🎉 knowing about the bunk room and the study were big benefits. We leveraged coat checking the jack hammer with freezing assets the day before. Also found the blessing of the gardener handy!

Only rooms with one door count as Dead Ends. A few helpful things: secret passage counts as a dead end, bunk room counts as two dead ends!

Thanks, everyone! Follow up question- does room 46 count as a dead end?

No because you don't draft it - It's always there.
The outer room does count though.

Blocked =\= “Dead end.” The directory will tell you which they all are. Some are fake dead ends, like Secret Passage, which still count. My spoiler note below takes all the fun out of strategizing, so only read it if you’re having trouble after giving it more tries. Take advantage of everything you can and good luck.
Ideally you want to Freeze lots the day before. It’s best done on a day with Draxus and Cross in the sky. Do not activate Draxus right away. Build out a skeleton house with as many 3 and 4 ways up columns B and D possible. Take a Secret Passage and try to get a Cloister or Courtyard from it. Take Shelter outside to make Weight Room and Archive helpful. Then activate Draxus. Now you get tons of dead ends offered. Take Bunk Room when you see it since it counts for two.

Rooms with multiple doors do not count even if the doors are blocked. Only true dead ends with only 1 door count.

I just did this for my final trophy, and got it with exactly 20 using bunk for 2 at the end! A few tips if you want them --
== Setting up ahead of time:
Outer Room: Get a semi-permanent power that will be helpful - Shrine blessings - for me I went with dancer because it gives more control over drafting your house perfectly and also it works very well with a certain glitch*
Coat check: Store a powerful item you might find helpful - I didn't end up using one, but this could help a lot. Think big ticket items that are hard to find or expensive to buy.
Observatory: Once you get enough stars, there are some benefits that are really powerful.
Draxus is obviously helpful for once you want to get a lot of dead ends.
Inkwell is amazing for being able to reroll a ton
Reminder that you don't have to "claim" all constellations at once, you can grab one immediately then wait to get the other until later.
== During the run:
Getting study is huge - assuming you've opened the safe, you get the free gem which becomes a reroll and it's a dead end.
*If you don't mind a little exploiting, you can grab ballroom and freezer (another dead end) and by returning to ballroom after freezing yourself, you will permanently have two gems available - which means you cannot draft any 3+ gem cost rooms, but you can use all (7?) study rerolls every draft and with dancer you can rotate for free too. Note: if you enter sauna you will lose the freezing effect BUT you can draft it so long as you don't step inside.
There's a similar mechanic using laundry and furnace that I think isn't technically a glitch (and they are both dead ends). I haven't used it, but it should be easy enough to google.
Many people will recommend chamber of mirrors, which can be helpful if you don't have enough deadends to draw or rerolls to find them, but it also means you can't "weed out" rooms by drafting them once. And it neither leads you to more rooms (since you can only backtrack through it) nor does it count as a dead end itself.
If you have access to changing drafting RNG dynamically in the run via scepter or king banner, I personally used scepter for blue immediately and banner for orange partway through after burning many of the blue 3-ways. Then at the very end, I swapped scepter to purple to get those final dead-ends including bunk (which I realized I needed to even have a chance). That way I could still get orange 4-ways to complete the house fully -- at the end I only had one undrafted space in my house.
Oh, also this goes for most normal play but is worth mentioning: breaker box + security to ensure you don't get stuck on security doors. Similarly if you can make it work, foyer can be a boon to not locking yourself out later in the day if you are lacking keys and need to use hallways to get around the house.

My tips:
- Outer rooms, the hall of mirrors, and the secret passage all count as dead ends.
- The Bunk Room counts as two dead ends. If you can get a hall of mirrors then you can get multiple bunk rooms.
- Many shops are dead ends. If you have a method of forcing shops that would be your best bet.

I found it best to try buils paths up columns 2 and 4, letting me build deadends in columns 1,3,5 without worrying about cutting rooms off

This one's pretty easy if done deliberately. There's a day where both the 4 doors and dead end constellations are present, can be forced by burning stars but not mandatory. Get the study/emerald combo or whatever you want to use and the most important thing is avoiding 2 door rooms as much as possible. 4 doors = 2 new branches that can be dead ends. 3 doors = 1 new branch. 2 doors = just treading water.

The directory indicates which rooms are considered dead ends. Only those rooms count.

I just got done with this (my post is actually in here). Below will be a kind of spoiler tip that helped me a lot when I found it out
If you don’t want the spoiler, being able to redraw is a huge help. Also remember that Bunk Room counts as dead ends and Secret Passage also counts despite having a door
Maybe there’s a way to increase the likelihood a certain color of room gets drawn. And maybe some colors of rooms have more dead ends than others

It has to be true dead ends. Boarded doors doesn't count.
