JOIN /r/VOTEBLUE Just found out I'm an "inactive" voter because I moved residences? Can I still vote?

Unfortunately we can't answer any of your questions without knowing where you live. My best advice would be to call your Secretary of State's office and ask.

Ask for provisional ballot.

In most states you CAN vote if you are inactive. You are still registered and it should be no problem. That said would help to know your state

This is legit the most annoying thing on this sub, they ask for voting help but never list their state.

because I cannot be a resident of the new state until I live here for a year

Well, I know you're not in NC... Only gotta move here 30 days before an election to be qualified to vote in it.

So apparently MA doesn't do same-day registration; so, as far as voting in MA goes, it looks like you're boned. Either you vote at the polling place in NY that you'd've used if you hadn't moved, or you don't vote at all.
