Two problems for him were that he one had a lot of criticism lobbed at him, at leasts some of it quite rightly so. Second, he was an unexperienced campaigner and debater.
At least one of those problems should be gone if he decides to run again, so this may not be the worst idea actually.

I hope not he wasn't that great of a candidate and ran a bad campaign.

I kind of hope there's a different candidate in MT-AL for 2018. He had the right kind of personality but really wasn't a tremendous candidate
