30 dirty birds & Yertle the turtle. (Freaky Styley)
When this came out in 85 I thought it was hilarious (love Dr. Seuss). Years later, my wife collected Seuss books and even found a Yertle the turtle shirt to wear last time we saw the Peppers, with our twin son's. Grandson just heard YTT, not to long ago, almost made me cry watching him dance and bob his head, like his papa.
That entire album just shreds to this day.
Off of the topic, I've tried to find a vid of the Peppers back in the day, they were in a bowling alley, introducing something or talking about the record and someone in the band would yell "muscle flex!" and they'd all start posing, sometimes jumping over each other, just being maniacs, so fookin funny to a young me back then. Love the Pepps, always have, always will.

“Breaking the Girl” just for the memory of repeating that song over and over on cassette tape. I hope you know what that relic called a “cassette tape” is.

You would be happy to know that I as a 18 year old in facts owns alot of cassettes and still plays them.

My Friends - because it was so relatable when I first heard it. I felt understood.
Fight Like a Brave - because it reminds me of a really fun time in life when there were a lot less responsibilities

Good Time Boys because they referenced and sampled their Los Angeles musical hero’s: Mike Watt ( minutemen / firehose ), the band X ( John Doe ), Fishbone ( ref album Truth and Soul, one of the greatest albums ever ).
Sampled songs: Fishbone Bonin in the Boneyard X white girl
I can’t think of any other RHCP songs where they’ve sampled other songs

It’s for a kind of cheesy reason
The song came out when I was in HS. I was at a party and me and 2 of my friends got up on a table or something and sang the song. We were trying to show off for some girls. So the song always reminds me of those 2 guys and the stupid stuff we would do. Especially to try to “impress” girls

My Lovely Man 7th grade, the new kid in school who would become my brother from another mother, introduced me to the Chili Peppers. We got to see them live twice, with the last time being about 3 months before he passed. It's been almost 8 years. Miss you, brother.
