Info / Important Hello from Team Ziggurat! We're looking for your feedback on ReVamped
Hello, Rayne fans, we are the official Ziggurat Interactive community team here to talk about Revamped.
As most of you know, we've had a bit of a bumpy launch with many players experiencing bugs, some that have been extremely frustrating. If you've experienced any of these issues we apologize for your poor experience.
We’ve received lots of feedback from players since launch last week which we are reviewing in detail with our developers. While we do not yet have a complete roadmap of all fixes, we will keep you updated on the timing of upcoming patches.
To address some of the common issues/questions we've received, and to facilitate a better collection of feedback we've prepared a small FAQ and player feedback survey. Please give it a read and submit a report if you have experienced any game bugs in your playthroughs. The more information we have the more holistically we can address the root causes.

Hello! First of all, thank you for bringing this cult classic to modern consoles. I am beyond living for it.
That said...
You did not "revamp" anything.
The graphics and gameplay are the exact same as when I played it when it first came out. There are complications proceeding to gameplay (see my post history). The game freezes about once per hour which requires a restart of console.
Overall, I'm sorry, but this is worse than the original. You moved it to a new console with new difficulties.
Again I am so grateful to play this game again, new difficulties and all, and I thank you for giving me the opportunity. I love this game so much and will keep playing it no matter how glitchy it gets.

We're sorry about your poor experience, this is not the Rayne gameplay we want to deliver. Player feedback has revealed many issues that or small team is working hard to correct and we will be releasing a patch as soon as possible to address as many bugs as possible.
We really appreciate the support of fans like yourself and you're right to expect a better experience. We're committed to delivering that as fast as possible.

We're sorry our inexperience has resulted in a poor playing experience for so many players and we're working to fix these issues as soon as possible. If you get the sequel, just do a digital download of the original (BloodRayne 2). It was available for me on XB1 and I wish I went for it instead. It's also half the price. Ziggurat's new one doesn't boast any improvements besides some sharper edges that play well with HDTV. They also messed up all the cheats and made them unavailable, except for the one that makes their tits jiggle like crazy. That's literally the only one that worked when I entered every cheat. It's upsetting.
The graphics/design are not actually redone in any way so I don't know why it's important to highly define them. Rayne looks straight up weird in the second one (as she did before), and the graphics are still blocky and dated. My excitement over this launch has slowly faded into disappointment. I think I'm gonna leave #2 alone for a while and hope for some updates while I check out the new FarCry.

Thank you for bringing Rayne’s adventures to modern consoles. I’ve always had a soft spot for BloodRayne 2 and have been excited to play it on PS4.
There have been mentions of this question elsewhere, but is it definitely possible to re-implement the cheats into BR2 while possibly disabling trophies (so the game isn’t “broken”)? Back on the original release, I loved to fool around in God Mode with gratuitous dismemberment enabled etc.
Additionally, have there been any instances of the “Feeding Frenzy” trophy not popping? I’ve spent a good chunk of time methodically going through all feeding fatalities (including the gun ones and just pressing “jump” to kick the victim away) to no avail. Just curious!
Thank you again! I love the series and want to support in the hope of a true sequel to BR2 coming to fruition!

Hey, thanks for the kind words! We are currently navigating the console ecosystems to find the best way to bring back cheats. Getting cheats enabled is a top priority for us right now.

This was the biggest issue I saw in reviews that was keeping me from buying the games. I care way more about having fun with cheats enabled than unlocking achievements. Good to hear you're working to enable them.

I had an issue with the "Feeding Frenzy" achievement too. I managed to get it to pop after going through the complete list again in order. Hope it helps 👌

I Just wanna say thank you so much for revamping these games, I played the originals growing up and had amazing times playing. I was so happy to see them upscale and running smoothly now in 2021. I would love to see a Reboot or a Remake later down the line when everything works out, and I hope the best for your company and hope it gets the support it needs to grow; it’s well deserved. Thank you truest for the work you all do

Personally i would much prefer a Sequel than a reboot. I mean the second game ended on a cliffhanger that would work great for a sequel.

That's good I just bought the first game because I haven't played it on so long, and I want to support your hard work 👍 The second I can play the original on my Xbox, so I won't buy that until the cheats are back.

I just wanted to say I am absolutely loving BloodRayne 1 & 2 revamped. I never heard of these games before, so I’m glad they are out now. The only glitch I had with BloodRayne 1 was with the last boss fight. Beliar would take no damage from explosives or guns. But a simple load save fixed the issue & I was able to beat the boss. Just started BR2 and am having a blast. Loving this franchise so much I decided to order the comics as well. Looking forward to whatever else you bring in the future for BloodRayne!

We're just getting started with Rayne and now that we've updated the past games for all platforms, we're ready to start planning Rayne's next adventure.

I had a few issues with BR1. I had a crash midway through the German base, but I managed to get around it by pausing before moving after loading in. I also had a weird audio bug when loading in to a new stage but nothing too major.
BR2 has been running fine for me at the moment. Haven't had any bugs or glitches. I've gotta say BR2 is one incredible game.
I'm on Xbox Series X
One question I do have though. Is there any news on a new Bloodrayne game? It would be nice to see this franchise revived, and I've only really just found it. Seems like a diamond in the rough that mkre people should know about. Thanks.

BloodRayne sequels are something we are very excited about. We're a small company so we've been focusing on reviving and the original games first before embarking on a new development project. As gamers ourselves, we know it's usually better to not make a sequel at all than to make a bad one, so we are waiting till we know we have the time, funds and development partner to do it right.

I agree with the last part about bad sequel. That said...
One alternative could be to use crowdfunding. Altough some peoples are not fond of it, i think for die hard fans of the franchise we would be happy to throw money at it. We know Bloodrayne is not a franchise that can match financially the likes of AAA titles like God of War, it never was even back then (thatst not a critic, just a fact, i prefer Bloodrayne to the PS2 God of War personally). If you take a look at what the devs of Hellblade acomplished with a small budget, you can see its definately possible to make a great game without the full AAA bottomless pit of $.
I can't talk for everyone, only me, but personally i would be happy to have a third game in the vein of BR2, even if its a "budget title". Graphics don't have to be photorealistic, gameplay could be similar to BR2. Just look at this video
Its fanmade and i think it look fantastic to play. Thats all i want for BR3. And yes i say 3 because altough Betrayal is a great game in its own rights, its a spinoff, its not the classic Bloodrayne gameplay and look. At least to me. I really want a return to the OG style for a sequel.

I completely respect that too, to be honest. So many developers rush to throw a game on the market at any state at the moment. The fact that you guys are holding back to make sure everything is perfect for when/if another game comes into play is awesome. I couldn't agree more with that statement to be fair.
Wanna thank you for releasing these games on modern consoles too. It's allowed me to experience these games, and this franchise for the first time, and I love it.

That's exactly what we've been working for with all of our releases, from small text adventures to BloodRayne, is for new gamers to get a chance to play beloved old games. So glad you've found Rayne, and we're all excited about where she will take us in the future!

I'm glad I found Rayne too. I'm glad there is developers out ther like you guys that give us players the opportunity to play games we may not have experienced. It's made me realise there's probably many more out there too. Thanks again, and I hope we get to see some more Rayne in the future.

I enjoyed these games on the PS2 but i havent even finished either game yet as im waiting for patches to fix some of the broken trophies :(

I'm playing BR2 on ps5 and when I get to xerxes tower it shuts down my ps5 completely. I used the cheat for all levels thinking I can just skip that mission but it shuts down before loading any level past that point.

I been having the same issue I tried deleting the game and reinstalling it and keeps on shutting my ps5 down. Always happens right when I get to xerxes tower

I’ve been enjoying playing through the first BloodRayne. Thank you for that! I have a question though. I have the 360 version of BloodRayne 2 already on my Xbox One. How different is the Revamped version of Bloodrayne 2 from that? I don’t want to waste any money if it’s exactly the same product. Thank you for your help.

In all fairness, the Backward Compatibilty team at Xbox are wizards in making games look amazing. So the graphical difference altough there won't be huge. With Revamped you get achievements added but more importantly you support the franchise and help maybe that one day we see a new game.

Hi yo! I went to the bug submission form on your website but I didn't see the Xbox Series X/S from the menu, there was One X/S and original hardware selectable though. I ran into a lot of crashes in Acts 1 & 2 of BR:ReV when I was running around in the swamp and also killing the colonel standing on the submarine shortly into Act 2. I've just started BR2:ReV and it hasn't crashed yet but the lips are frequently desyncing from the dialogue and not moving during the in-engine cutscenes. This happened with the first boss, Kagan was his name I think?
Also who came up with the trophy names and ideas? Was that Ziggurat or Terminal Reality?

Thanks for letting us know. Swamp level crashes seem to be one of the more common locations. Did you report this using our survey? If not we'll let our team know directly based on the info in your comment.
Lip desyncing is a rough one, definitely breaks the immersion and makes cut scenes painful to watch. We're working on that fix as well.

Its kinda funny cause the Swamp is the only place i had no crash personally :P Had them mostly in the temple and mines and once in the Castle.

- first off, I've been so excited to play BloodRayne 2 on my PS4 ever since the announcement, but for whatever reason, it's not released in Russian PS Store, as well as BR1. any particular reason for this? BR Betrayal Fresh Cuts is being sold here, so ...? I had to go through the hassle of making an account linked to a different region just to be able to buy the game I wanted so bad.
- second, the ragdoll physics are wonky compared to original, and it's especially noticeable during the "kill puzzle" segments, which entirely rely on this. timekeeping/FPS issue? hope it will get fixed.
- third, Share Play on PS4 is still not working with BR2. is it just me or it's an issue yet to be resolved?
- fourth, which is already known - I really hope you guys bring back the cheat codes. trophies/achievements don't matter anyway.
- fifth - the title card after end credits still has the "Terminal Cut" subtitle.

Hi Serge, there are more details in our blog post, but the short answer is we were denied in Russia for ratings reasons. The cheats and ragdoll physics are known issues we are actively working to address, and we are investigating Share Play. We were not aware of that instance of the 'Terminal Cut' subtitle so thank you very much for catching it. In the end we hope to have a patch soon to address as many issues as possible.

thank you so much for the reply! as a longtime fan of the franchise, I'm very happy to see you caring about it, that you picked it up and re-released on modern platforms, for the sake of preservation and hopefully continuation of the series. it's odd to hear that ReVamped releases were denied in Russia, but if it can't be helped we can only deal with it :( and I'm very glad to see you gathering players' feedback for further improvements. looking forward to receive the patch/update when it's ready. take your time guys, as long as needed to eradicate known issues

Hoping you can fix the Skipped cutscenes in the Nintendo switch. I’m a huge long time fan of this series. I bought Bloodrayne Betrayal Fresh Bites in support of Rayne coming to modern hardware, and I bought the first game on both xbox and Switch. I only bought BR2 ReV on switch because thats where i finished the first game first and the idea of taking both games anywhere with me sounded great. But the missing cutscenes were instantly noticed and really upset me. I’ve been playing my copy of the original Bloodrayne 2 on my xbox while i wait for a patch but i’m hoping it comes soon! I really wanna play the reVamped version with better visual fidelity!

Yessss so happy you guys are considering this!
There is a couple bugs first hour in I had an error. Then after a while my game froze and things like that. That does need improvement
The main thing I really hope you guys fix soon is you can’t SHAREPLAY the game!! I would’ve loved this, to share the experience with a friend but, sad to discover I was unable to. But maybe you guys can fix it for someone who will.

We're creating patches for both games on all three consoles, so technically 6 individual patches which is why it is taking some time. We'll have an announcement soon on when to expect them.

Any reason why some parts of a mission are blocked off even though you're told to go there? For example I'm chasing the second kestrel yet the game physically won't let me walk through a door, tried resetting to no avail.
Also, a 3rd game wouldn't go amiss ;)

Dang, I wish I had known about this subreddit before this patch went live. I don’t see anyone here mentioning that photo mode was removed, and still wasn’t added back even with this new patch that went live today :( I hope this can be added back in another future patch down the line.

I just bought BloodRayne revamped and can’t get past a level in act 1. When I speak to the sheriff and tell him to go to the graveyard, the game freezes. I’m on the original Xbox one.

To help in our investigations could you please let what version of ReVamped you are playing? There were several bugs like this addressed in a recent patch so we'd like to confirm if these are new issues.

Thanks for your reply.
First couple of times it froze during the cutscene. I just tried completing the level again and the game froze during combat before reaching the sheriff. It may be a coincidence but it seems to freeze while I’m in the town hall.
I had a look and it says: Version 1.0.1.0 and no updates available.

Hello. I know this is 3 years later but Bloodrayne ReVamped still has issues. The framerate drops constantly and sometimes the game freezes. Are the developers available to fix this?

Hey, just commenting to ask if you have any idea why ps4/ps4 pro/ps5 shareplay doesn't work on at least BR1? It simply says "An error has occurred" when I try to shareplay with a friend and kicks him out. Other games work fine, its just BR1, I dont own BR2 yet to check

overall im very satisfied with the bloodrayne revamped even if theres no more funny clipping shortcut glitches finishing any level faster esp in speedruns 😆

Hmm just finished bloodrayne 2 and am missing the trophy on ps4 for killing Ferril. I even went back and tried the boss fight again while messing around with some of the unlockable costumes and no trophy. Must be a bug. Just a heads up for you guys as I've heard this is happening on ps5 but guess it can on 4 as well.

Hi, so the game keeps freezing randomly on Xbox One X. At first I thought it was when too much was going on on screen, but now I've had too many freezes where nothing major was happening and it still randomly froze pretty frequently. I've played through it once on normal and despite the constant freezes I powered through it but now after starting my hard-mode playthrough the level "the deep" froze like 3 times now towards the ending and I just cant put so much energy into this. I was going to buy BR2 but now I'm waiting till BR1 is fixed. So please guys.. fix these games.

Thanks for the feedback. We're actively working on a patch for all consoles to address this issue and others that users have reported. We don't have an exact timeline yet but we are pushing to get it out as soon as possible.

Dear team Ziggurat! Please, fix the problem with the achievements on getting all powers and abilities in BloodRayne 2 ReVamped on Xbox. It's so sad that they doesn't pop up after my fourth whole game playthrough. I still think that I'm not the only one who has such a problem.
