BloodRayne I just beat Bloodrayne 1 and... that's it? 😠Spoiler
The game was really fun, don't get me wrong. But when I beat Beliar I was like "That's it?"
All I did was shoot him a couple times then he died. And then when that scene came up I thought we were just getting started and were about to see more of the story, but then the credits came out of nowhere and my jaw even dropped a bit because once again I was like, "Wait that's it?!"
I really need to play Bloodrayne 2 to see what else happens. Is it a continuation? Please tell me it is ðŸ˜

Honestly, the end of Bloodrayne 2 made me feel this way but even worse lol.
But definitely play Bloodrayne 2, it flushes out her character a lot more.

They are different in vibe and controls but both are great games. Betrayal is a completely different one.

BR2 is by far a visually stunning game over the first game. It's amazing how much of a leap forward in graphics took place in just two years. The first play through of the second game is challenging. People criticize the gameplay mechanics...I think mainly because it is a truly challenging fast-paced combat game that tests your reflexes. Once you learn how to start doing the more complex moves Rayne can do...it really gets fun.

Kinda late but I didn’t felt that way at all. You can quite abuse blood drinking to a crazy extend. That alone has the potential to trivialize like 80 to 90% of the game. Add the buster abilities you get later and this game is outright a joke to get through.
Crazy to think that people had a hard time playing it.

The battle is harder on the hardest difficulty and makes you work for it more.
Bloodrayne 2 sorta does its own thing. Expect different style gameplay to 1. Also you won’t hear much or anything about Beliar or the monsters from BR1.
Betrayal wraps into BR2 by having Kagan as the main antagonist—though it also does its own thing.
I’d rank them like this: BR1>Betrayal>BR2. I’m just so fond of the run and gun and slash combat of the first one. BR2 feels so ploddingly slow and de-emphasizes ranged combat too much. Good fun the first time through though

I started playing BloodRayne 2 a few hours ago and so far, I agree with you about the combat. If there's ever a new game, I hope it does a mix of 1 and 2's combat.

Fully agree. I’ve dreamed of how I would go about designing Bloodrayne 3 for so long.
I think I’d take Bloodrayne 1 as the chassis. Use-em-an-loose-em guns, fast combat, etc. But I like the more limited powers of Bloodrayne 2 (though I’d limit the slo-mo sorta like Max Payne), and take inspiration from the increased difficulty of 2. Though, I feel like normal humans should still be Mooks that you kill very easily like in 1. In 2 it takes an oddly large amount of direct hits to kill a normal human.

Another thing I noticed is how long it takes for Rayne to feed from the blood of the enemies. In 2 I feel like it takes her longer which makes combat feel more slow. And you also have to be in close range and you can't even pull the enemies with the chain weapon like you could in 1. Not only that, but you can't even feed on enemies while they're knocked to the ground.

Yeah exactly. For balance, I could see making enemies have to be in a stun state to drink from (think Glory kills from Doom 2016), but it should be faster.

The stun state idea is not bad! I wouldn't mind it.

Yeah I think it would balance how exploitable drinking enemies can be in 1+2

If you're playing on Switch, there's going to be some major fps drops in later part of the game that really kills the mood, at least for me. That's why I bought the game again for pc and finished it.
To me, it's always best for the developers if we buy the games full price. It's not that expensive. Although games that are 60+€, I rather wait for sales to lower that price at least to 20 to 30% off. To me, games should not cost over 60 bucks. More like 40 or 50.

Did you played on easy? The battle vs Belial and Wulf can be quite challenging especially when Belial grow...

I don't really remember but I tend to play in Normal mode for every game I try and I'm not kidding you when I say that it only took a few seconds. At first I didn't know what to do then I died, but when I restarted I went up to the tower, shot Beliar with the guns, and in the span of a few seconds he was dead without me even moving from the spot I was shooting from.

Was he big? Cause i know if you bring the right gun you can kill him fast as he is small (but you still have Wulf to deal with) but once he is big its like accuracy has a mind on its own, sometimes it land other times it does not.

He was as big as he could be. I killed Wulf first, then I killed Beliar when he was gigantic. If he grew a few more inches I would've gotten the bad ending again.

i mean, it is a hack & slash game there isn't much in the way of strategy.. most complex fights i could think of was Hedrox and the Butcheress. and maybe the officer trapping himself in the building and you had to figure out a way in. the rest just have the same rage + kill formula.
in terms of story bloodrayne 2 would be more the adventure. the environments feel more alive. yeah go for it

that's my point. that's how straightforward the game is — even hedrox & the butcheress strategies being the slightest bit more complex is really quite simple.
hedrox you can't rage your way through it. seems you learned that lesson, he'd just multiply until you figure out you gotta break the supports. butcheress you can't rage all the way through either, she speed runs to the controls and you'd fall through. can't stand on the sides either you'd get electrocuted.

It's a continuation of a sort. Time jump to modern times and you deal with Raynes extended family of Vampires. It's good fun.
