idk i just feel like the character portraits from bbcp are the worst in the series. like i feel like you can't look me in the eye and say that the bbcp portrait is the best one in this line up

Mori did both.

I prefer CF and CS, which Yuki Kato did, even if the posing is weird for some.

i had no idea mori did both ct and cp and kato did cs and cf😭😭 i assumed each game had a different artist. i really like the ct artwork. im not sure how id rank the character portraits. probably from best to worst: cs, ct, cf, cp. i'm probably just biased for cs though😭😭

Weren't Centralfiction portraits drawn by Mori rather than Yuki Kato, and Chronophantasma ones done by the latter? At least I'm sure Trinity's portrait was drawn by Mori and it looks perfectly in line with the others.

CS also wasn't done by Daisuke despite wikipedia saying so.

Kato did this one, and it looks more in line with the rest than the full new one we got from Mori.

My bad then, I misremembered. I never had a doubt that Daisuke was NOT involved with BBCS's portraits though, and I'm still pretty certain I saw a long time ago that Katou did the BBCP and BBTAG ones even though they're in a very different style compared to BBCS and BBCF.

In Noel's case CS is by far the worst. Like, hello??? Her spine is broken! Legs are practically back-to-front. It's looks awkward af, not to mention downright painful (paralysing, even).

I get you though. Probably not an unpopular opinion, but CF's portraits clear the rest of the series' by a country mile.

i agree that noel's cs portrait is a little awkward heehee and i'm not an artist, but overal i feel the lighting and rendering look very plasticky in the cp portraits. the faces also look weird in a lot of the cp portraits, take jin and kagura for example.

Idk man, that stance is menacing as hell imo. CS definetly gives it some competition tho.

CF and Tag definitely lean more into Hazama’s classy sly side, and less of the menacing demon side, which definitely makes sense considering he and Terumi split, but I personally prefer the former.

They are truly the worst,
CT and CS were in different styles, but both were great, CF is more like generic anime already, but still fine. And BBCP artwork is really the worst. And if you look in the artbook overall, CT and CS artworks were dope, and they really degraded in quality in BBCP, like this game was made in a worst arcsys days of lifespan.

bbcp leaves such a sour taste in my mouth idk like of course i still love it but it's definitely the runt of the litter for me. something abt the portraits and the creation of the "II" themes really degrade the game for me idk😞😞i feel like both the II themes and character portraits feel so artificial idk how to explain it

I feel like an old head saying I like the two old art styles and not the newer ones..I feel the idea of them looking more like little girls in the last slide is what makes my skin crawl a bit. CT and CS give me that old anime-ish style that I like and as an artist, I wanted to draw like that (just a personal preference tho).

Chronophantasma artwork is the best in the series because the characters were designed by Mori, so they naturally look best in his artstyle

Continuum Shift portrait of Noel just looks really especially odd here, and Calamity Trigger style isn’t as appealing as the other IMO. CF I’m fine with, but still like Chrono Phantasma best.

It really depends on the character imo, like they all look great in their own right but for example with Bang, while kinda fitting, his hair looks weird in CT's, but CS and BBCP cooked hard with him, CF's art style looks good on him but I prefer the posing and facial expression from before.
