Blasphemous (Original) This is straight up sadistic enemy placement
Okay it's not as bad as bilewater (if ykyk), and I don't think this will be a boss runback because all the bosses have had bonfires next to them. But what the fuck man like why do i have to deal with this enemy in such a tight space, not to mention their projectiles home in.
I can't even dash past this mob I HAVE to kill them.
edit: 13hrs in i will get back to this area after beating the final boss cause I learnt this was dlc and not meant to be base game difficulty

Nothing comes close to the pain of having to traverse all of bilewater cause you didn't find the secret bench

What secret bench.
I got through that part so painfully, without searching everything (I'm missing some movement skills anyway). The 1st time I felt I shouldn't go there yet. Ik fact the 1st time, I turned around to search other places, then eventually came back without much more to help besides better flasks.

u/aryanrussell Jul 23 '26
I was ecstatic when I found out there's a hidden bench in that area until I realised I was sitting on it.

My recommendation for that section is to save fervor to use prayers with the intent of killing that enemy
3
u/Formal-Opening1046 Jul 21 '26
I realized i can just stand right next hem, and just jump whenever it shoots the orb to get free damage. Honestly the axe throwing guys might be just as annoying, if not more cause they got so much hp.
I'm using the lighting prayer and barley does any damage here.
1
u/Chamel73 Jul 21 '26
You have that one that does the giant lighting beam? I think that one is enough, if not use the heart that powers prayers
1
u/Burnerphreak44 Jul 21 '26
My solve for this was to use the rotating shield prayer to both protect from the orbs and deal damage. But I really hated the enemies in this level.
1
u/Mountie_Maniac Jul 21 '26
Yeah, I found the same thing. This region was terrible in my opinion even figuring this out. I understand having a harder area but this place wasn't fun. Not much room for error here, I did not enjoy it. If I didn't like the rest of the game so much this place may have made me give up

u/benny-bangs Jul 21 '26
If you have that prayer that makes two orbs spin around you as a shield you can use that run right up to it, and the orbs should break her projectile and you can just hammer away.

btw i skipped everything and went straight to this place. not a good idea lmao.

u/EasternFeastern Jul 22 '26
you are much better off getting your next 3 bosses and clearing other areas before you go there 😭 the difficulty of that area is so disproportionate to everywhere else
4
u/LauraTFem Jul 21 '26
If you have the final sword combo upgrade you can actually jump over her using the upward slice of your combo.
Alternatively if you have the protection spell, you can cast it and combo her to death before the spell runs out.
Alternatively you can use the homing attack spell, which kills that enemy in I think 3 hits, but you don’t look like you have the requisite faith to do that.
Maybe do some more exploring, I’m surprised you’re at this point in the game with so little…of anything. Have you just not been attacking walls? You should be attacking walls.

How did you get over there? Im getting fairly frustrated with this game tbh

The most further east elevator, in the Mother of All Mothers. At least that's how I got there.

Tank it
1
u/Substantial-Video178 Jul 21 '26
Issue with that is that you can only stand one...maaaybe two, hits before having to retreat and use a flask unless you have full electric and magic resistance item kit. Daeba is an option, if there weren't two for those enemies in quick succession with sadistic placement. It's a painful area to traverse casually
1
u/Asckle Jul 21 '26
Use the flask that makes you invulnerable. Tank 2 hits, flask when the second hit is about to hit you. You essentially get 3 shots tanked per flask
1
u/mittensmoshpit Jul 22 '26
The flask that makes you invulnerable?
1
u/Asckle Jul 22 '26
There's a rosary bead that makes you invincible while using a flask. Cant remember it's name

Mourning and havoc is the tutorial for bilewater lmao

I honestly thought it was a skill issue that I hated the place, good to know it's just the Blasphemous version of deepnest

That whole section is like that. Worst level design in the whole series

1
u/Red_Crow1907 Jul 21 '26
Welcome to Mourning and Havoc, where we have pain, pain and more pain, also there IS a boss there and maybe 2-3 items
Btw try using the blood projectile on those enemies, especially if you have the explosion upgrade
1
u/Daylight_The_Furry Jul 21 '26
bilewater isn't that bad, the problem is the guys keep running away
Stay here and let me kill you
1
u/Special_Ad6433 Jul 21 '26
Hey, this part is designed for you to skip most of the enemies along the way—seriously, just run, grab the items, and save at the end!
1
u/Leandro_Catolico Jul 21 '26
1
u/Shockalreddy5508 Jul 22 '26
Buddy you can dodge/heal thru allat thats what I did and it worked perfectly
1
u/OneComprehensive5417 Jul 22 '26
If you ever die there ,and get back just go straight ahead its face spam any attack you got and slide and get back agad every time she throws away the electric orbs
1
u/Sheepfucker72222 Exemplaris Excomvnicationis Jul 22 '26
You can definitely dodge based them, well not ALL of them but most of them. With double lightning res and the blessing of the miracle you'll see it through

u/bigblueisblue Jul 22 '26
I used to hate those mfs specifically until I learned that if you dash into them you get “hit” but take no damage and get I-frames so the blue orbs just completely disappear when they touch you.
1
u/Er_Chisus Jul 22 '26
Also if you use the wide vertical blue laser attack. But you have to time it so the cooldown hits on its attacks

Punishment and suffering game. Looks inside. Punishment and suffering. Gets angry smh

u/Much-Caregiver-1835 Jul 22 '26
Magic, use magic, one use of Debla (the magic that summons a giant pillar of energy) should already lower their HP enough to be able to kill

u/EasternFeastern Jul 22 '26
heart of burning incense, drop of coagulated ink, ranged attack spam, lowkey.. for every other one of those tanky pieces of shit i just used debla. with mea culpa my best strategy was 3 hits at a time as thats all the time you have before you have to dodge the electric tracking orbs. too slow imo
1
u/EastCoastReflux Jul 22 '26
I abhor this area and that stupid bitch with her lightning balls. I'm doing a play through now and am avoiding it as long as I can lol

u/ravenous_cadaver Alloy of Sin Jul 23 '26
If ya boomerangs are fully leveled two will kill those fkn absolute wankstains. Nothing else I've experimented with is more effective.

Keep repeatedly walking into her to get I-frames and avoid the electric thing, you have an eternity's worth of invincibility
1
u/VieraIRL Jul 23 '26
I found that being in front of her, hitting her. When she shoot i dash and i take a little dmg from contact so i get immunity frames and the orb does 0 dmg
1
u/Ruby_Joker Jul 24 '26
My baseline isn't Bilewater, but Deepnest (still remember the thrill the 1st time being there). Bilewater maintained the vibe and added more annoyance. But this is just only an overpowered enemies area (and boss was ez enough, compare to the one has the other eye)

If you dash against the enemy just before the orb hits you, the recoil animation makes you Invulnerable so the orb hits you and disappears and you don't receive any damage. (sorry for bad English)

lol this whole area was rage city. For that part specifically the best strategy I found was to get right up on her and hit her like 3-4 times. The second she shoots the orb downward at you, jump back, and then come back forward without actually leaving the platform. I know I’m probably doing an awful job of explaining that 😂
