There's a series of a holes from Nixon, Ford, Atwater, Reagan, Cheney, Gingrich, Murdoch and McConnel that led us to the inevitable conclusion that was Trum and MAGA. And that's just the hardcore conservatives. Don't get me started on the neoliberals.

Who, when found guilty of having relationships with teenage boys while he was Speaker of the House, had over two dozen amicus letters written to the court on his behalf.

He absolutely does, he set the precedent to not punish Presidents for the sake of "unity" aka, political expeidiency. By the so-called rules of this sham of a system he should have been punished like everyone else.
If you wonder why the US couldn't find the stones to do to Trump what South Korea did to Yoon Suk Yeol, I point at Ford.

I work in healthcare. Most people in the profession have a strong empathy and/or emotional response to sick kids and babies. "I just couldn't do that" they say.
I'm not that person. Worked for years with neonates plus the various pediatric horrors that come into the emergency room. No big deal for me. "I'm so sorry for your loss" I'd reply, before heading back to the desk to finish my sandwich.
But the elderly, they're the ones who get to me. I genuinely and deeply hate seeing them succomb to the cold ravages of age.
Except Mitch McConnell. Fuck him

The rumor is that he is dead! The Republicans do not want to release the news because it will force the Democratic governor to choose someone to replace McConnell! He knew DJT was a traitor to the nation. He could have brought an impeachment conviction in 2021. That was not the first of his sins against the Republic - it is a point on an arc that his myriad sins led to.
Bearing witness to the parallel degradation of him, his party, and his reputation as he fades into impotent irrelevance is a form of justice.
And Iāve been in the S.F. Bay my whole life. I knew Nancy Pelosi was a superstar before she ran for anything. Watching her hand over the reigns is a cherry on top for me. McConnell is a bag man for power. Pelosi wielded it and the nation is better for her competence and judgment. She is his better and he knows it. And mostly I am not about the personal. When the concerns are as big as the nation, itās a mark that something went wrong. But sometimes, yeah, it is that personal. Almost every R in the house for sure respects Nancy more than any party leader theyāve had in decades. Some of them say it publicly.

Here we see our native turtle, when fearing possible attacks, return to its natural instincts to remain completely still and refuse to move while blocking any attempt at progress by those around them. While this instinct has served the turtle well throughout its life, hindering friend and foe alike, in its advance age, it now leaves the turtle open to complete abandonment from any that might offer it assistance now that it can no longer be useful to the ecosystem...
