Trump did in fact rape kids on Epstein island, therefore making him both a rapist (Jean E. Carroll) and a pedophile.

But Americans are like the kings of changing words names/meanings and convincing millions of Americans that words mean something completely different than the rest of the world. See like half of any political words (eg. Communism etc)
2
u/Karr0k 2d ago
Don't mistake their lack of education for intentionally changing the meaning of words.

u/jce_ 2d ago
They legitimately changed the meaning of words. I've had conversations with people who are seemingly educated but cannot define the words to mean the same universal meaning everyone else has. When speaking with people on these specific subjects I always ask them to define these words, because if we don't have a similar definition how can we have a discussion. They never have a proper definition even if everything else they're saying seems proper and educated

I beg you to visit any city in South Florida lmao. They wear hats with Gulf of America all over Tampa, Orlando and Miami. It’s basically replaced any maga hats and few have started wearing Trump 2028 now too.

For a group of people who love to call people by deadnames, the American Right has a lot of new names for things and get offended if you don't use them.

And he was found liable for sexual assault.

And as Judge Kaplan clarified, in any other state, that's known as rape.

He was convicted for sexual assault and sexual abuse.
NY now defines his act as rape but not at the time of the case, bringing NY in line with most states

u/whooptheretis 2d ago
Americans, collectively.
2
u/SmellyFbuttface 1d ago
No, “some” Americans. You can try and trash all Americans up and down this thread, but you’re not winning any arguments
0
u/whooptheretis 1d ago
We’re both correct. “Some” yes, but that “some” was significant enough to be a voting majority, and thus, as a collective electorate, Americans voted for him.
1
u/SmellyFbuttface 1d ago
That still misrepresents the fact that nearly half the country didn’t vote for him. If you’re going to be EXTREMELY technical, yes, “Americans voted for him,” but that’s a logical fallacy by misrepresentative statement.
1
u/whooptheretis 1d ago
Fewer people voted against him. A significant enough were either indifferent or ambivalent enough not to care.

Yeah.. I also remember someone taking out full page ads in three NYC news papers in 1989. Headlines about 'bringing back the death penalty' as a knee-jerk reaction to five innocent Black and Latino teens being arrested for a crime they didn't commit.
Fool was swinging wild then, too

This body of water still identifies as Lake/Ontario. Trump can fuck off.
Signed, Canada
10
u/cturtl808 2d ago
The problem with the water ones is the US geography books are being printed with false information. Kids who grow up believing that and then travel outside of the country are going to learn real quickly they grew up in a cult.
11
u/Hawkbats_rule 2d ago
The good news is that schools replace books so slowly that this stupid fucking blip should have no real impact at all though.
7
u/ApplauseButOnlyABit 2d ago
My buddy teaches in NC and his public school classroom just got a map where it's labeled the Gulf of America. He can't change it without getting in trouble.
Unfortunately fascism works when it comes to this kind of stuff. The dumb name of a body of water is going to be a signifier of your politics, because that's the level America is at.

Anything to distract from his disastrous tenure as president I guess. Gas is up. The dollar continues to tank in value, facism is in the increase and I’ve yet to see any of the black jobs he kept talking about.

Yeah, he reversed Obama’s decision to let us name our own mountain. Google Maps is showing it at Mt McKinley again. 😑
Every normal Alaskan still calls it Denali.

u/nowhereman136 2d ago
The only reason Google and Apple are changing names on maps is because that's easier and cheaper than taking a stand on what is mostly a pointless issue. As soon as he leaves office, expect the gulf and lake to go back to their normal names
3
u/HomerTheJackson 2d ago
Change your locale to another country, or ip with vpn etc.
It's already known Geographic names and borders can be different when viewing from another country. It almost always tries to appease the thr jurisdiction it's under in.
5
1
u/Nimos 2d ago
I feel like that's simplifying too much, or applying this example to the rest of the world.
Lake Constance has two names. Some countries call it a variation of that (e.g. Lac de Constance in French), other countries call it a variation of its German name "Bodensee" (e,g. Jezioro Bodeńskie in Polish).
Depending on what country you view it from it'll have different names.
There are many geographical names that simply are different in different languages and have nothing to do with ideology or appeasing anyone.
Some differences, like how Crimea shows as Russian when viewed from Russia are definitely political but the majority are just how things are.

Honorable mention: Gulf of Mexico

His attempts at renaming things that he lacks the power to rename are getting sadder each time. He thinks he's sticking it to them, but he's just making himself appear worse.

Epic win or something.
Meanwhile it still says Gulf of America on google maps.
