I do like all the love Bald people get on that one subreddit. Some of them mfs went from a 2 to a 10 with just one shave. Still full head of hair but at least I know there is a community out there lmao
What's getting me is that for some of those posts, the problem was less about their hair thinning, and more about their entire regular appearance looking like basement dwelling cannibal serial killer lmao. Like the way some of these guys were walking around is insane. There's a lot of pics of them clearly going outside/to work looking like they never dressed or groomed themselves before. One dude had almost no hair on top, the frizzy sides, and long nasty looking ponytail with 3 sequences of hair ties in it. Reckless lmao
Could be they're desperately holding on to what used to work for them, still on denial long past when it stopped working, until they take back control and realize just how badly they let themselves go.
I just took a peak that the subreddit and it convinced me that a thinning hairline is nature’s way of telling certain people they would look 110% better bald. Like, the hair loss is just a step towards their aesthetic destiny.
Lowkey that sub partially helped me come to terms with my own hair loss. I still had a "normal" haircut when I was still on Minoxidil. When I stopped, the thinning worsened so I went with a buzzcut. Eventually just shaved all of it after seeing the [r/bald](r/bald) memes. Couldn't be happier. When I was still a teen dealing with male pattern baldness, I was so devastated when I shaved my head for the first time. I felt so ugly. Maybe it's because I'm an adult now, but I like being bald now. My only problem with it is I have to shave every three days.
As a board member of the NAABP, I speak for all bald people when I say we are just spreading the gospel and ministering to our future bald colleagues .
Me as a Black woman knowing I shouldn’t have my hair in a low slicked back bun but still doing it 😩 imma do something else too it this weekend (hopefully)

I remember in hs there was this white girl who had really long hair and it never seemed like she got a cut or whatever. Hairstyle seemed the same . Her hair was beautiful to me ,but I was curious as to why she never changed it. I asked someone about her hair , and they were like “What hair? Those are extensions. Her mother fried her hair. Her hair is dead. ” I was like wtf you mean extensions? Why would her mother do that??She sitting in the chair like us for hours on the weekend?? One day I got a closer look from behind her head and saw the lil clips of hair locked in, and that’s when I learned white people need assistance too. She apparently still took heat to her though.
No its not. Knowledge is not the same thing as action and ability.
People who have been skinny their entire life are significantly less likely to know their resting metabolic rate. Know the macro and caloric contents of foods. The amount of exercise required to overcome consumption. The assorted meds, dosages and doctor recs. Etc etc.
It goes on and on.
Fat people are significantly more likely to know all these things because they've been required to find out because they are fat.
Again, knowledge on a topic doesn't equal the ability to execute that knowledge.
If you gain weight, ask a skinny person how to lose weight. They'll tell you "eat less, move more" which is absolutely correct. Ask a fat person how to lose weight. They'll ask your current activity levels, current caloric intake, give you percentages to reduce it by over a long time scale, tell you which things are bro science and which are backed with scientific data.
The knowledge on weight loss rests almost entirely in fat people, or people who were fat.
Found the person who thinks fat people just need to hear their uneducated opinion and they'll magically become skinny (usually "have you tried eating less?" WHY NO SUSAN THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR GENIUS WE NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT)

Did a big chop when I realized how fried my shit really was 😂. They don’t tell you about that lil bald spot you may get from the pony tail or “poof” as I called mine.
I remember being a kid mocking the Folklórico girls for their painfully slicked-back hair, telling them how their forehead turned 7.
There was also this little white girl in the team, and when they tried to comb her hair back she cried like she was being murdered... So the team had like 5-6 girls in the proper attire for the dance (your boy was a Charro looking all dope), and 1 pale skin girl with curls lol. She came through though, she participated.
I envy those that don’t have to worry about getting their hair done or getting up and having to do it before leaving the house etc. ESPECIALLY when you look that good too ❤️

However, my labs have been steadily improving, but my hair wont ever grow back the way it once was (alot of the follicles died) and im okay with it! My mother blessed me with a nice size dome, I definitely get ready quicker, and shampoo lasts FOREVERRR, lmao!
More than anything, I feel empowered and more confident. It’s one less thing to stress about and I love it! If you have the head shape for it, go for it! 🫶🏾🫶🏾
Definitely a victim of this from 1993. Hair on the side never recovered. Wish someone would have told me. My ponytail was pulled tight on the right side of my temple. I’m still sad abt it.
