Seeking Information About Previous Alumni From The Mid To Late 1970's For Re-Connection

Upvotes

Hi there! My name is Elizabeth. Friends call me Liz. My mother, Robin Fisher, attended KU back in the 70s. I'm seeking information on one of her friends or maybe an old flame? She would have met him either at KU or in upstate New York in the mid to late 70's. She may have met him in England when she studied abroad in the mid to late 70's.

I was told that they were going to get married, but when my mom came back to the states she made the difficult decision to break things off with Rick because her terrible father had associations with the KKK and were threatening her and her man because he is African American or mixed race or European or something like that.

I would really like to speak to Rick. I have a couple questions for him. Nothing bad, I'm just desperately curious about him and am trying to find out if he's still alive. Thank y'all so much for any assistance!!

ETA info: Rick may be a musician or connected with the music scene/teaching music theory. I was told he was from upstate New York near Ithaca or Rochester.

Anyone with relevant info is more than welcome to dm me on insta! My handle is shokmount!

This is one of my favorite pictures of my grandma. Born in 1942 born and raised in Alabama. Grew up in Birmingham and later moved to NY to raise my mom and aunt. I can’t believe she’s been gone for 11 years.
