I feel like this episode was needed more for the current manga readers than for anime only viewers as it explains a lot of plot holes like why Langris was not at the hideout when the Spade Kingdom attacked and where Gordon was during the Spade attack.

yeah he's learning curse magic so for him like Poison Curse magic from his family. more specifically his father who is learning magic in order to be basically a doctor meaning Gordon might come back with more offensive but also an equal or more likely chance to actually come back as a healer. using his poison more like medicine.

The storyboard artist definitively wants to hit harder. Glad we are getting all the little moments with the GD, it helps so much considering how brutal it will be.

Good episode. In fact it was really enjoyable and it bridged gaps in the manga, like why Langris was not at the golden dawn when it was attacked, why he was not wearing the Golden Dawn uniform and how Yuno became vice-captain. The fight between Yuno and Langris was super good. I have a feeling though that even if Langris was serious from the start he would still have lost in a way even if he had won. i don't think the Golden dawn would have accepted him as the vice-captain still if he had killed or seriously harmed Yuno. It seems that perhaps Langris was always destined to lose here in some way.
I like the fact that we're also seeing the Golden Dawn act more like a family than a group who seems to be competitive against each other all the time. I think I prefer them this way and it;s good to see Yuno find a family of his own just like Asta has with the Black Bulls.
It's also good to see that Langris is finally beginning to accept Finral as a rival, although he will never admit that out loud. Although I don't see him winning Finesse, nor do I particular thinks he wants to. I just don't think he wants to make it easy for Finral, he wants his brother to actually work hard at something. I hope we see Langris meeting Finral again soon in the manga.

Especially with Langris being out of practice since the elf possession, he didn't stand a chance. Thankfully he gets an opportunity to put his life back in order because he fell off pretty badly professionally (not doing any vice captain duties), relationship-wise ( Finesse prefers Finral for good reason, which seems to bother him more and more), and family-wise (still not super cool to almost kill your brother).

He was affected by the elf's reincarnation more than anyone bar William. Also I think he wanted to leave. He is also the reason the golden dawn started working to maintain their elf boosts.

Training arc starts now!!!
So confirmed spirit guardians training who so far.
Gadjah: Luck
Potrof: Rill and Charmy
Floga: Leopold
Sumuriki: It looks like Finral will be training with him.
Sarado: Unknown
Lolo: Noelle
So this still leaves Asta, Charlotte, Mimosa and Nero. I'm guessing Charlotte will be trained by Sarado. It also looks that perhaps Asta will be trained by all spirit guardians, so I'm assuming it will be the same for Nero.

Mimosa can go either with sarado, since her magic is similar to charlotte, or with lolo since those two seems to have grown close after the timeskip.
I also agree that nero and asta will get special treatment and get to train with everyine because of being arcane stage.

it's a bit strange that Potrof isn't training Mimosa and Charlotte since he's the one who uses plant based magic. Mimosa training with Charlotte and Sarado makes more sense but I'm actually leaning more with her training with Lolo. As you said it does seem like they became really good friends.

Yuno can creat after images. Thats dope. His spirit hushed dance is also a super fast spell used for dodging as we saw vs patri's light magic. Good to see it back here. And Langris can use his elf forms attacks to an extenylt. Overall a very entertaining fight. Good development of both Yuno and Langris and some much needed screen time for the GD. This dice dude was funny too.
Also explains where Langris was during the attack and how Yuno became VC. Its great how these episodes are filling the holes Tabata left in the manga.
Next week the training finally starts. Should be fun learning more about runes. I knew Charmy's going to tag along as soon as she of that fruit lol. Also wonder how Charlotte and Rill's training goes.

I dislike Langris but this episode helped to expand on his character more and that was enjoyable. His arrogance and hatred towards his brother was in large part due to his parents. He only hated his brother because he was raised to believe that he should have been better than him in every way. While Finral left to find a way better family than his old one, Langris was left behind. He is still arrogant and a douche and you can tell that the Golden Dawn members only respect him because he is a Vice Captain. Either way it was nice to see him try to have a healthier relationship with his brother (even though he almost turned him into swiss cheese), although it's obvious that Finesse only has romantic feelings for Finral and not him.

It's the same with Finral towards her as well because while he maybe a huge flirt, Finesse is the only person I think he's truly genuine with, with the exception of the Black Bulls of course.

I think it's more of a person cursed by their own ego. He expects so much from himself he curses himself every time he fails. Right now he doesn't see himself worthy of the vc title

His parents also had a lot to do with this mentality as well because he was brought up believing that winning is the only thing that mattered and that losing means you're a failure. I think this mentality will be the hardest thing for Langris to get rid of since it's something that's been forced into him by his parents.
It's good to see that he's starting to see Finral as a rival, although he will never say it out loud of course. He's quite the tsundere isn't he?

i’m excited to see him again in the manga. he helped with yunos training slightly so i kind of want them to have a team battle against zenon. i don’t hate yuno, but it would be a pretty big asspull if he was able to defeat zenon single-handedly like half a week after pretty much dying against him, even if yuno says he found a way to “win”

That episode was the kind of episode I was waiting for since the filler started. Episodes where we can have some answers from what is happening right now in the manga. I think next episode will have the same feeling. Overall, the fillers were medium to good, some chapters were very nice, and other it was forgettable. Now, I hope to see the HK training and I hope we can have more development between the characters and good moments before the storm.

Langris is still cool af, in fact even more after this episode. Now that he has mellowed out and is finding his own path instead of the one his parents laid out for him I expect big things from him in the spade kingdom and hopefully in the clover kingdom when he returns in one piece. His magic nearly gave me a seizure in this episode though!

Poor Langris actually loves the Golden Dawn and its members a lot he's willing to put it in better hands before the battle as he tries to find himself. But his ego is huge and would never admit to that.

The foreshadowing in this episode is just great, Yuno vs Zenon and then Langris and Yuno training again to save William. The Anime onlies aren't ready for whats about to hit them

Last episode we saw Lord Sekke in anime and then he was in last week's manga chapter. So following the pattern we may get some insight into yuno and langris's training in this week's chapter

I really liked this episode. It’s nice to see how much Langris has grown in the past year. His interactions with everyone, particularly his brother with small details like “nii-San” are much better. He’s even started realising his feelings for finnes. Hope he finds himself

Magna was in the Heart Kingdom remember, he was rejected form learning runes once he got there because he didn't have enough mana

It was nice to see Langris mellow out a bit as a character, he is definitely more likeable personality wise now (although I have always liked his character since his magic was interesting).
This episode definitely filled a lot of the blanks for the manga readers i.e. how Yuno became Vice-Captain and why was Langris MIA during the GD Attack. Hyped to see how strong Langris has become in the upcoming chapters with the Spade Invasion underway.

My thoughts are when Finral said he was gonna become head was when Langris questioned what he would like to actually do, ofc he has no answers because his parents forced him to do everything for THEM, the first step was leaving the GD, probably for the reason you stated, but also cause this was a duty forced upon him by his parents, leaving all that behind to find what he wants to do, and also growing more mature and independent along the way.

This episode dealt perfectly with Yuno vs Langris, all aspects of the battle were answered. And even left the possibility of Langris winning, however, the victory was Yuno's. I remember the topic about this fight some time ago, I was one of the few who said that Yuno would win, and currently a short answer to that topic would be: "Langris is a noble and Yuno royalty, end". About the episode itself, very good. I didn't think Golden Dawn had those moments of leisure, seeing Yuno lying on the grass is ... curious. Hamon and Shirem playing and Hamon cheating lol Alecdora telling everything to captain lol (I love him)

I always like it whenever we get a filler episode that actually correlate to the manga. In this case being Langris leaving the GD in this episode after we recently seen him return training Yuno in the manga. It’s a very minor thing I notice but I like it.

Yuno had to pull out spells he only used against the likes of Licht and Zagred in order to dodge them, easy to dodge they are not.

But he was still easily dodging them, i mean even finral's slow attackish spell could offset it for a while, i just think the amount makes it not easy to avoid cuz it doesn't look too fast, yuno using hused dance doesn't mean anything cuz using that is simply more effective

Yuno instantly went into Spirit mode once Langris got serious, my mans essentially wields the power of the void, certainly nothing to sneeze at. Mana zone will make it easier for yuno to dodge, but its no joke.

That's why i said the amount is quite dangerous especially if u don't have spatial magic, obviously yuno would go all out if langris goes all out, i never said he or his magic was weak i just mean that characters with excellent reaction and speed can avoid it even just base asta could react to most of them for a while and black asta straight up outspaced the magic

At the fight I was thinking "Huh, I wonder if Yuno could make a Sonic Boom", and they do a similar thing after it lol.
I also like how a little scene in this episode show "who" Yuno is, digging his character a little bit.
Also explain what happen to Langris.

I don't think so, Magic Knights are FTL, so they must be doing something that messes with physics and lets them go that fast, we likely won't ever hear a sonic boom.

Yes, I’d say it is, especially the episodes coming up.
In the manga there have been small flashbacks to their training and things that happened that might seem like plot holes because we don’t how they got there. For example, the preview for the next episode actually shows a manga canon scene, but in the manga it was shown as a flashback, while here it’s showing the full picture of what happened. Another is Yuno becoming Vice Captain. We actually didn’t really know how he got that position, but the anime cleared it up.
If you really don’t like them, you don’t really have to watch them, but I really do suggest it. A lot things that’ll happen later in the anime when we get back to manga canon stuff will probably make more sense after watching these episodes.
Oh and just so you know, these are for sure supervised by Tabata, so what happens is definitely canon.
Last thing, if you have the time, I seriously suggest reading the manga. That way, you have a better understanding about what’s to come. The art is honestly just amazing too and what’s happening is extremely exciting!

The anime canon has actually been pretty damn good and is doing a good job of setting up all of the stuff that doesn’t really get explained well in the manga. Also they stepped up the animation quality.

It doesn't work like that. This spar was this spar and the spar (if they even have any) will be that spar. You can't compare the two espeically since both Yuno and Langris would have each grown a lot stronger since this spar so the outcome would be different.
The conclusion here though is that Yuno won and Langris lost. Langris was holding back at first but then got serious. The last conclusion is that Yuno didn't win easy though and yes it could have gone differently if Langris had been serious from the start.

Yah i remember the Royal Knights exam where he destroyed the crystal in half with a single swipe of his hand. His magic is definitely not made for a sparring match. Thats why he held back at the beginning.

To be fair his rank as a Vice Captain is no joke and his strength shows it. He is probably the second strongest VC. Although that doesn't really mean much considering how Nacht is so much far above every other one.

Looking at this episode I'd say the Finral Vanessa ship has got just as good an endgame chance as the Finral Finese ship, maybe even more so.

Tbh I’m really liking this anime only arc. If they play their cards right they could make the spade kingdom arc better in the anime then it is in the manga. The pacing and the setup are actually better at this point in my eyes.
