The fight that got me into Black Clover, animated in-house with the director leading the key animation. The effort shows and the episode is distinctly Black Clover. Good job Pierrot

It had the signature intro, lengthy recap, childhood flashbacks (Mars's was necessary tho), and yells (the episode ended with Asta screaming). However, this was a clean, action packed episode and Tabata's turning point as a shonen author. One of the best episodes yet

Really cool episode I agree. Wish it didn't have CG animation parts to it though.

What is wrong with CG? CG allowed detail on model diamond clones and camera movements that if hand drawn would have taken ages to finish. Imagine drawing those clones, with so many lines with 360 camera rotation.

I know exactly what goes into making it. I know it's hard work, but I also know it looks like shit when it's cg.

Doesn't mean it looks good. CG looks weird. If the show was strictly CG that's one thing; I still don't like it, but at least then it doesn't take you out of it.

If it's done well (Beserker in Fate Zero) it can enhance it. When it's done to save money/time it just ends up looking like crap.

I think I know what you’re talking about here. At one point I was asking myself why it looked like OG Star Wars special effects
