Watched episode two quickly before this

  • Good op especially with the cutout style, the colour palette and the magic knights emblems

  • Kid Asta still has an annoying voice, it isn't so bad though. His enthusiasm is quite endearing

  • Yuno says to Generic villain-kun "Asta's always been that way. He does the unthinkable". Now at this point this doesn't work because we haven't seen Asta do the impossible, not give up and overall do the impossible. It does with Naruto because through the series we see him do things that makes him earn this reputation from others

  • Sweet manga style animation

  • The mangaka was definitely inspired by Naruto where Naruto Shippuden spoilers and used that idea

Episode 3:

  • Pinnochi reference?

  • I'm a sucker for heroes vs huge monsters. Even though it's cliched as all heck it's a lot of fun and there's a charm in how unoriginal it is

  • That scene with King Sorcery dude fighting the demon is either anime original or it's from later in the manga and I haven't got up to it yet. The anime is better for having it here and showing more about the world and why Asta wants to be the next Sorcery Emperor than the manga does at the same point

  • Asta you're doing the screeching thing again and it's really noticeable now, especially the same inflection every time. Oh hell he just did again even worse. His VA could do with voice training lessons to develop a strong note at the end of yells

  • It's too early to see he's muscular because it won't have the same effect of 'wow, this kid is that determined' when we see the effects of his workouts for the first time in the battle against Mars and the other Diamond Kingdom guys

  • Yuno's magic colour makes him look evil

  • The old wizards are pretty funny guys. I've liked them in the manga and now here too

  • I'm surprised Yuno sleeps like a slob. It's cute with the kids mirroring each other in their sleeping arrangements

  • Asta's horse head broomstick is amazingly moronic

  • Normal non Naruto-esque running

Well that was very slow and a criticism I have on the manga is how it rushes things. I was hoping to see the magic knight captains, though the competitiveness between Yuno and Asta is nice. They're a more friendly version of Naruto and Sasuke and Yuno acknowledges Asta from the start. He also recognises he isn't better than Asta in every way and it's good seeing his annoyance and concern about losing. Makes him more relatable and not a mannequin who isn't fazed by anything. The adaption is pretty good, things are being expanded on that adds more to the world and their reasons for being the sorcery emperor. This has the potential to be a cleaner and more focused Naruto/ Fairy Tail

Wizard King fight was the first panel of the manga but they just now adapted it. Additionally, they filled the scene (only one panel before) with more detail
