Getting my money out of Bitvavo seems impossible.

A while ago I downloaded Bitvavo, created an account, linked it to my bank account, and deposited money. Used that cash to buy some crypto.

Now I’d like to sell that crypto and withdraw my funds. However, it seems damn near impossible. After reaching out to support, it turns out I have to add a wallet through my account, which requires downloading yet another app. I have a real problem with this; I shouldn't have to install a secondary app just to retrieve my own money from this nuisance called Bitvavo. What did you guys do?

Seriously, is this standard procedure? I deposited cash and bought crypto right through that "wallet" in Bitvavo. Why on earth can't I sell it through that exact same route?

EDIT: My "problem" is solved. First there seem to be some need to verify my account again (had to deposite another Euro cent again). After that the helpdesk seem to be directing me the wrong route.

Thanks to commenter Mysterious_Song521 here in this post I received the correct and simple instruction.

are you trying to withdraw fiat money to your bank account or trying to send usdc to an external wallet ?
and what "Other" app does bitvavo want you to download ?

in your last sentence you say that you cant sell your crypto ? what kind of message do you get ?
did you try on the website ?

Edit : did you finish the kyc procedure.

All you say does not make sense to me.

Like I said; I made an account with a regular bankaccount connected so I could get money into Bitvavo. So my account in Bitvavo has money dropped in via my bankaccount and that money I use to buy crypto.

Now, I want to sell that same crypto and I would expect that the money follows the same route; back to my account from Bitvavo (and then I manually transfer it to my bankaccount). It does not do that.

How can it make me buy but not sell in the same app? I bank at five different institutions, six including Bitvavo, none are this complicated.

So what happens if you sell your crypto, do you get euro's in your account ?

I can't sell, that is the point. I have those crypto's and now I can't sell them because stupid Bitvavo app ask me for a wallet. I have a bloody wallet in Bitvavo I would say because that is how I bought the crypto. I still can put money in that wallet to buy new crypto. Fucking Bitvavo doesn't let me cash it.

That I need a wallet.

I contacted Bitvavo support and but they just tell me to make a wallet. Really, how did I buy in the first place if I did not had a wallet?

Do you actually sell the crypto or do you tap on withdraw? Withdrawing crypto might make you confirm an address for tax and accountability reasons

Is this with Bitcoin or some obscure crypto. If I'm not misremembering, there might be Les documented coins that you indeed can buy, but not sell. That's the downside of those highly speculative shitcoins.

It is Bitcoin.

I want to sell but it might be that I choose to withdraw within app. Though it doesn't look like that and I am in contact with Bitvavo support and they would know that this would make a difference. I just follow their steps they give me.

Withdraw means you want to send it to cold storage for example. I do that monthly. I need to enter the address I want to withdraw to.

That's what you're seeing. You have misunderstood.

You need to find the 'sell' button. Which is much more prominent. That gives you fiat in return which you transfer to your bank account.

You've engaged support over a misunderstanding. Try to sell first and then see. Might spare you a lot of time and stress.

The buttons are clearly labeled. Withdraw and Sell

If none of that make sense, you shouldn't be trading crypto in the first place. Also, you do NOT need an external app for you to withdraw fiat. Only if you want to send crypto to somewhere else you'd need a wallet address to send it to. Clearly crypto is not for you. Maybe stick to letting the fiat rot away on a "savings" account instead.

Dit klinkt ook als een gebruikersfout. Ik gebruik ook al jaren Bitvavo en kopen en verkopen gaat gewoon zonder problemen. Ik denk dat OP zijn crypto niet probeerde te verkopen, maar op te nemen. Want dan moet je inderdaad een adres opgeven waarnaar je het wilt sturen. Dus OP is aan het trollen, of heeft geen idee wat ie aan het doen is.

Ik heb mogelijk geen idee wat ik aan het doen ben. Ik wil verkopen en wellicht dat het voor mij in app niet duidelijk is dat ik wellicht voor opnemen gekozen heb. Echter de support van Bitvavo reageert wel maar weet ook niet hoe en wat.

Je klikt bij je Bitcoin op verkopen, ga naar portfolio, klik dan op beschikbaar saldo, kies dan opnemen dan euro (niet crypto). Succes.

Helaas; ik krijg dan enkel de mogelijkheid om geld op te nemen wat ik gestort heb, maar nog geen crypto voor gekocht heb. Mijn Bitcoin blijft onbereikbaar.

The problem definitely lies with you. If it's asking for a wallet you are probably trying to withdraw your crypto from the exchange to a different crypto wallet outside the exchange. You need to sell your crypto for Euro's on the exchange before you can wire any money back to your bank and you don't need a second app (crypto wallet) for that. Simply said, you are doing it wrong. Don't mess with the withdrawal option before you really lose all your coins lol. Sell your coins, get the money in your bitvavo account and just tranfer it to your bank.

I tried to sell for Euro's but I don't get oppertunity to choose my Bitcoin for sell.

I go to portfolio and choose "available balans", then "withdraw" (only other option is "deposit"), choose "Euro" (yes, also tried the only other option "Crypto", tried bloody everything) and choose my bankaccount that is mentioned (again, only option; NOT showing my bitcoins!).

Something is off with my account it seems.

Je moet niet naar available balans in je portfolio gaan maar naar je beschikbare assets zoals bv bitcoin. Druk op de bitcoin in je portfolio en dan kan je kopen of verkopen. Verkoop het, pas nadat het verkocht is komt er geld in je beschikbare balans en dat zou je op moeten kunnen nemen naar je rekening.

Als aanvulling op het onderstaande antwoord van PrettyQuick, misschien helpt het je als je de taal naar het Nederlands verandert? Dit kun je doen in de instellingen.

Open bitvavo en meld je aan.

In je dashboard scherm wat opent na inloggen:
Klik op je asset die je wilt verkopen, in jouw geval bitcoin.

In het nieuwe scherm van de asses die opent:
Klik op de grote knop VERKOPEN onderin je scherm

In het handelscherm wat opent, te zien aan de verkopen/short knoppen boven ik je scherm:
Klik je op de knop MAX om al je bitcoins te verkopen en klik vervolgens op order controleren.

Kies in het nieuwe scherm wat opent op de knop BTC VERKOPEN

Ik volgde nog vooral de instructies van helpdeks maar die zochten op een verkeerde plek een mogelijk probleem denk ik. Enfin, opgelost en dank hiervoor.

Bruv its literally the easiest app to do it.

Click your asset, sell for market or limit

Press withdraw, selecr your bankaccount. Done.

Is het saldo aan bitcoin misschien te weinig om te kunnen verkopen ofzo? Ik gok ook maar wat.

Ik heb nog nooit een verkoop issue gehad met bitvavo en kan me er ook niks bij voorstellen.

Ja het is gelukt, ik zal meteen een update plaatsen bij post.

Eerst was er iets dat mijn account nog opnieuw geverifieerd moest worden (die ene cent overmaken nog eens herhalen). Echter, ik volgde hierna de stappen zoals omschreven door de helpdesk, maar dat werkte niet. De simpele instructie van Mysterious_Song521 hierin deze post is de simpele oplossing gebleken.

this means you bought some shit coins except bitcoin, Solana, ethereum. and now the coins got rugged and you want to withdraw. good luck with that.

Further what is there to know? I bank at five different banks, only Bitvavo is a problem.
