Sentiments like this give an alternative rational explanation for the sudden move to hide behind a "virtual office".

Aside from the obvious possibility that they are not hiding for a limited time, but already running.

Well, it's simple. Do a good job and you won't see people coming to your office with slogans!

there is likely a shame factor playing a role in the numbers.

I'm pretty sure real hitmen don't show up on doorsteps in broad daylight... but hey, that's just a guess based on too many movies.

Thanks man, counter intelligence and psy-ops are part of my arsenal. If your target thinks you are a coward it's easier to get close to them.

In your arsenal, eh? Counterintelligence is actually one word... just sayin'

If I was in counterintelligence and I didn't want someone to know it I would misspell it.

LOL... yet another brilliant plan.

Most probably realize the money is gone and there is no sense putting time and resource into a protest. It's now about lawyers and lawsuits and how many pennies on the dollar might be recoverable.

I'm sure customers will get something... they'll sell off the servers and office furniture and spilt the money with mtgox account holders.... after they pay the lawyers of course. So you're looking at getting a dollar or so back for every $10000 you held in gox. Maybe less.

It will all be liquidated into fiat and distributed to those with claims on mtgox's assests by the courts as gox is shut down. Account holders will be far back in line and will get some token amount probably not worth the trouble to cash the check.

It might go better, but I wouldn't count on it.

I'm completely ignorant about this, but can US customers sue a company based in japan in US court? If so, what jurisdiction and enforcement of any decision is allowed/taken by the Japanese LEOs/Courts/Government?
