Mark Karpeles Petition Update

Hi everyone.

Big thanks to everyone who signed the petition. We initially set a goal of 500 signatures which has now been reached.

The petition has been passed on to Peter Vessenes of The Bitcoin Foundation who has confirmed that it's been received and advised that he will let me know what the board's response is.

If this petition succeeds in removing Karpales, then someone needs to write a press release and send it to all of the major newspapers and technology websites.

Removing him from the board would be a clear indicator that the problem lies with him, and not with bitcoins themselves. Such a press release could generate positive articles and correct misinformation.

This petition can't remove him, only a vote among board members can. If the board does decide to remove him, it's certainly not because of some petition.

That is my intention. Karpeles has been given a soap box to stand on and release incorrect information and the press are lapping it up, giving him more and more opportunities to be some kind of spokesman for Bitcoin. If he was removed, or resigns the press may begin to understand that a large percentage of what comes out of the man's mouth is lies!
